KS/MO Acuras
Purposes of thread:
I know some people don't always check the forums very often, but you may want to consider getting atleast weekly updates to this thread in case a post is made for a new meet.
- Keep track of members (checkin)
- Gather ideas and feedback about meets
- Post links to threads for official KS/MO meets
- General talk - about whatever, including but not limited to posting links that others may find useful, posting pics of your car or yourself, link to your car thread, as well as car/non-car talk, and for getting help for your car questions.
- This thread will not be an official meet thread, it will be for the time in between meets and a single source to notify everyone subscribed about a new meet and the link to the appropriate thread.

FWIW, i've driven through some pretty big puddles with my CAI, and no problems...the filter has to be almost completely submerged to cause the engine to hydrolock
you could always get a bypass valve or a short ram intake too

CAI; on my CL type-s when I had it (sold now) I didn't have any issues, but be careful with deep puddles. The bypass valve in my experience is a waste of time and money. They kept breaking on me over the years... I gave up and just removed the bypass all together. I think I may still have one if your interested; when I clean out the garage at the end of the summer I'll post if I find it.

wassup ya'll... mah bad havent been in meets section for a lil bit. I would post pics of my car, but uhhh yaaaa.... Nothing to really floss right now. haha.
Steven like the others said, dont sweat the whole sucking water up belief. Since you aint slammed the water would have to be up past your fog lights in order for you to waterlog your engine

^-- No problem. The install is easy and there is a ledge above the tail lights that was made for the resistors. If you get the 4 ohm 100 watt ones from partsexpress instead of the 3 ohm 60 watt ones that some have been using, then you only need 1 resistor per side instead of two.
Are you wanting to tap or solder the connections? I used a tap for the resistors and had to redo one but they are all working fine now. For the wiring on the angel eyes I soldered all but 1 connection.
Also if you want to throw in LEDs for the rear turn signals I have an extra set of Amber towers that I ordered by mistake. I got the Ambers on advice from Kennedy. I actually like the look of them for the rears. I was going to sell them on BM for $40 shipped if I ever got the post up but if you want them I'll do $35.
Let me know when you want to do it.

Thanks buddy...I know, but it's like Murphy's Law. If it can happen, it will happen to me !!!
I could do the CAI, but I just had to purchase a new home computer, so my $$$dinero$$$ reserve is on short supply right now.

Any of you guys install the UR Stock Pulley? I'm getting one off a guy from the BM as soon as he can get it off his car which probably won't be till the 23rd. I was hoping to already have it on for the Happy hour meet. I'm trying to decide if I should buy the hex tool and a breaker bar and go at it myself or take it in and let the dealership do it.
Also I'm planning on getting the Fastline Performance Adjustable Sway Bay powerlinks from MrHeeltoe.

Is this meet going to be for 3rd gens or is it open to all? I live in the Ft Riley area but would be open to a sat gathering to meet up with a few AZers.

^-- Meet is open to all acuras. It looks like the meet is going to be on a Sunday though. We did have poeple come in from Omaha, STL, and Springfield last time even though it was on Sunday. We even had some honda's show up and they are definitely welcome as well.
Thanks for the comments guys. I'm leaning toward having the shop install it.

This KS/MO thread seems like a good idea for the locals. If anyone is interested in paint correction detail like swirl and haze removal give me a holler. I'm kind of mild at it and will get your paint looking good for a fair price. I'm not trying to make money, but more interested in the practice i get from it.

Started with a PC. Got a Rotary now Makita 9227c. A PC or UDM is a good starting point, but youre better off with a true DA if you wanna spend the cash.

I am using the PC DA on my details I do at home. Step on over to DetailWorld.com - there is a different DA that those guys love over there.
BTW- Pulling apart that motor that weekend because my buddy got careless over a puddle was ridicuous. With a CAI - be careful - however, the performance gain with a CAI over just a short ram isn't even noticeable. No need for the risk for just the "cool sound."

I'm thinking about just paying to have to car detailed so I can get the swirl marks all taken out without having to pay for equipment right now. However I'm still waiting to see if I get layed off right now or not before I start spending money.
As for the CAI, you just have to not be stupid about driving through deeper water. I've had the AEM CAI on for almost 2 years now and driven through some very bad storms at highway speeds with no problems what so ever. Its when you go into deeper water and get the entire filter wet that you are pretty much screwed.
On another note I finally got a set of wheels, just have to wait on the job thing before I can buy tires for them and have them polished/painted. I bought a set of Volk SF Challenges from Lembowski. I can't wait to get them on the car.
