Short cruise?? Me and my dream of a long twisty road with a pack of Acuras! *sigh*

 

my friend listen up! these are the best streets north burbs have to offer: curves, you have no idea!! we are parking by skokie lagoons= 8 sweepers. back in my dumb days, hitting apex, i exited these curves doing 90m.p.h. so they are huge...also if we go to glencoe beach...

well here, look on map: willow, forest drive [or w/e, thats lagoons] to tower, east to make left on sheridan road.

ok sheridan road right there is very tight curves with elevations = dangerous!! and soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much fun. we can go around there plenty of times...one time ALL the way around this area = good 15mins cruising.

total time from parking lot to beach should be like 15/20mins...thats short for me, i can drive all day!

 

i'll try to keep the summer shoes on long enough to make it to the meet haha.

and then again I am on stock wheels and suspension on my TL still so when the navi say make a slight left turn I go "Got a curve ~ wooeeeeee!!!!" hahaha thats how bad it is. So I am sure the place you have picked its going to be lot of fun!

 

sorry im just too excited...ill warm you guys up on sheridan, then third time around, im gunning it and see who's quick to learn...OK NO!, we're not gonna be dumbasses on this meet, but i had to memorize those turns to take them at 40m.p.h.ish which is too fast for them...oh i love it!

maybe say meet at the lagoons at 1pm and if its raining we'll wait till 1:30 then go to the huge 5 level parking garage across from macy's at old orchard or something?

 

May be couple of you local guys can put up one Grand Central phone number (keeps your personal phone number hidden) for everyone so that those who are lost can call that number and any one of you can guide 'em - no push just volunteers who are willing to help!

 

i want to address this personally: look if you are heading south toward us on the I94 coming from WI, you will exit on the tower exit. you will make a left at the light after you exit and then you will come to willow road after a little bit. it may be confusing for people, so once you hit willow road, take a left, cross the bridge over the 94, and make a quick left turn into our parking lot!

again, heading south, exit is marked Tower...if you are ehading north, just look for willow.

 

I already know the weather will be perfect, a cool hi HP day, leaves fluttering down, and about 20 angry ACURA's ripping up the twisties ! We need someone to video all this. Damn I wish it was this weekend! 2-1/2 weeks is too long, she's aching for a road trip.

 

well video i can't do but i plan on snapping about 400 pix that day. maybe i'll let you all do some runs down the ravines and i'll pull over and get out to take some nice action shots.

 

I've got a 2GB card for my camera, so I can take some video. Maybe I'll get my passenger to video while I'm twisting her up, ( if he doesn't wuss out).

hahah tell me about it... ive been going up there late at night since i got my license when i was 16... just to clear my head and drive.

i like to get my anger out flying up on the edens up to lake cook then going to sheridan and going south into the ravines and then come back on tower and back home down willow

This is awesome that this is happening so close to home since I live in Wilmette. I drive a white 99 TL with some mods here and there, and I have no problem with making a lil drive from Purdue back home to meet up with you guys.

i drive a 335i sedan. i also had a Legacy, but recently went to the 335. i live in chicago, so i take 94 up to dundee rd, then park ave to sheridan and drive it all the way to chicago.

 

dude all are invited!! who cares what car you have as long as we are mostly acura!!!! thats for sure.

yeah line of acuras on the ravines will be amazing...im so excited.
