The goal of this thread is to plan for a Florida Mega Meet that would involve Acurazine Members from North, South, and Central Florida all driving in seperate groups to Orlando for one big MEGA Meet for all Florida Aucrazine Members. A meet this big obviously requires quite a great deal of planning and organization but i am willing to step up and take some action for all of us. I believe this would be a great meet if we can get it together and make it happen. It would give other Florida Acurazine Members a chance to see other members cars from other parts of the state of Florida as well as give all members a great photo opportunity on a large scale.

Now if were gona make this meet happen, im gona need the help of an Acurazine Member in particular. First i need a member in the Orlando area that has planned meets before that knows where a good location would be to have this big of a meet. If ur a member in the Orlando area that could do this and help me get this meet goin, please send me a PM ASAP.

As for all members in the State of Florida, if you live in the North, South or more West in the Tampa area, each Acurazine Member needs to communicate with other members in there area and get a group together that is going to make the drive to Orlando. The end result will be Several Acurazine Member groups from all parts of florida driving to Orlando in packs. Each pack comming from a different location of Florida.

If you would like to make the drive to Orlando for the meet, Please post with your Location and Car Make. As each member does this, i will be creating a list of everyone that will attend. THIS MEET IS NOT FOR SURE YET, so if anyone has any concerns or suggestions please post it. A MEET DATE NEEDS TO BE DECIDED. Anyone have any suggestions??

IF we get a large number of people attending, I will ask Rick Case ( Largest Acura dealer in the US) to see if he is interested in sponsoring it.

I MIGHT be able to convince him to raffle of a Acura Car (for his charity) or something but like I said, it would have to be a very large attendence to get him interested enough to do something like that..... Early days yet...but anything is possible.

No Acura (yet), but I have an '04 Accord EX V6 with navi. I would be interested in coming down to Orlando for this meet.

 

depending on how many people we can get, ive been to plenty of meets in orlando, for a park, blanchard on dean road is nice. i believe its $50 to rent out a pavilion, and if you rent out the one at the end of the trail, u get your own designated sand lot to park your car at right next to the pavilion.

we need to find a place first, if its a park call them for dates. pick the farthest yet not too far date and give everyone about three weeks to plan. set a date, or make a poll.

 

This sounds great! I have a 04 SSM TSX 5AT NON-NAV, representing North Florida. I'll keep an eye on this thread for the date and place. I'll also talk it up around this part of the state.

The Acura dealers here arent really that oriented in doing promotional stuff. Atleast the one in Lake Mary/Sanford, where i bought my car and my bros, they were very proud of not having any advertisements. Though its worth a shot.

The dealer in Orlando, i refuse to buy anything from. Walked in one day and was treated like crap, speically after he saw I had an Acura. Basicaly assumed he could get anything over on me.

Depending on how big, you may be able to use a parking lot or something at UCF. If its big enough you could rent the arena But there have been many carshows at UCF and alot of people come out if the advertising is right.

 

i live wayyy over in pensacola but i'd be willing to roll down to something like that...i still own an acura albeit an MDX but i'd roll up in my slammed mini if anything

Date and Time is still in the process of being decided. I think i might put up a poll for deciding the date, just how im already doing for my local meet by me im having. The date is the hardest part because, no matter what date we choose, theres always going to be members that say they cant go because the date of the meet just happens to be when they already have something planned or are busy. Its always gona happen no matter what date we pick and its unavoidable so i guess im gona put a poll up. Be patient though. This takes time to plan.

if you wait till the middle/end of aug UCF starts fall classes, more people to come n see. depending on what your planning this may be a good thing or bad thing

aug 21 is the date classes start i beleive. so weekends would be best to get a parking lot dedicated. its been done before. the azn club did it before i think

im pretty sure you have to be a student at ucf to even get a lot open, that and be in a club or something. the last time they had a car show it was like ASA or something. You cant be just a random person coming to use the lot. Id recommend the park, i can call them and book it, but im not paying for it. i could. i think we should make it a small bbq too. food, cars, why not?

food would be like $5 for a wrist band or something. this would just require cooperation from everyone. we would need a cook.

im pretty sure you can rent some things out here on campus, either the park here by the lake or some other places. Depending on the turn out and organization, you may be able to coax a related club oncampus to help you out.

that one was particullarly large, with alot of publicity.

if free places are where we are thinking of going then shopping centers are another idea, or malls in the area. the Oviedo mall isnt far from orlando, about 5 minutes north

 

I would be in although I have to work every other weekend. Central Fl 2006 TL. Anyone know what it would take to get the fair grounds? If we were to make it a charity event cities and others would help out or be williing to give the best deals, that way they can write it off for taxes..Everyone wins. People love doing things for kids ..Make a wish that kind of stuff. If we sold raffle tickets for a buck and donated it to the charity. Someone could contact car stores for donations, care care companies or online detail sites that have stores to donate products..wax, MF towels. If you contact the charity they will propabl y have a list of local businesses who they deal with on a regular basis. Restruants will kick in a free gift cert pretty easily. Just some ideas.

Nah, no way is this MEGA MEET gona happen that soon. Its tooo big, thats too short of a time frame and we got several things to figure out first before its all said and done. I really dont think the lot of a college is gona be a good spot for something this size. Too many students and its not like this meet is put together purposely for the public to come and SEE THE SHOW. Anyone obviously can walk up and take a look at everything at any given moment but this meet is for the members and i dont think we need to attract too much attention with the public lol. Lets keep this thing somewhat private like any other acurazine meet is.

Now thats what im talkin about. Thats a good idea with the whole food thing, wrist band for $5 and eat all u want basically. I can't see everyone eating more then two of any one particular hot dog or burger. We should deff decide if we are gona do the whole food thing or not. Could work, depends. You tell me.... Also, i deff think that would be a great idea. GET A SHIPMENT OF ACURAZINE STICKERS AND SELL THEM AT THE MEET. They would sell like hot cakes in no time. Ive been wanting one so bad. What i dont get is, who does the money go to from the sticker sales??? Is acurazine really a business that makes money at all???

I deff agree with what your saying, IF ITS POSSIBLE to get that to happen. You'll have to figure that out a little more or do some research what not. Should be try and get some organization involved in our meet or not, in order to get a good location?? This needs to be discussed further more.

I can deff see this meet being 50 Plus easily. Hopefully friken members that havent come on the forum in a while actually sign on and check the meet section and what not. We gotta get it to be 50 members atleast.
