if you guys set it up on a nice weekend way down the road, why not have a mid-atlantic meet and get everyone from NY, NJ, PA, MD, DE, VA (and maybe WV and the carolinas?) to head on over... either way, if it's a nice weekend, I'll probably head on over there and just crash in salisbury at my boy's place afterwards before coming back home to Bethesda... just set a date!

Just by way of commentary, I'm trying to think of something other than the meet that a person from, say, New York would consider another worthwhile reason to be in Delaware.

I mean, the "no sales tax" thing is cool and all, but....it's Delaware.

How about Sunday the 18th?

Can't speak as to the weather, but that would put us outside the likely date for the Philly meet (16th?).

I like the Christiana Mall location idea, another would be Lum's Pond State Park (which is totally self-serving on my part, just because I live right across from it ). May be a $1-2 fee involved, tho.

Well, since the Philly meet looks like it's gonna be Friday the 16th, how about any in DE wishing for a meet this weekend pursue that avenue, and we Delawarians tentatively schedule our meet for Saturday the 24th at 3 p.m. at the Christiana Mall parking lot behind Strawbridges?

1 then? I think there should be time for people to drive up if necessary, and it is a Saturday...but I don't want to step on anyone's plan for the meet, either. Just wanted to throw a suggestion out there so we could maybe start planning on it.

Hey, I was thinking it would be cool, as was suggested earlier, to maybe change the title of the thread to maybe say South Jersey/Phila/MD/VA meet? Might attract more attention.

3 pm it is, then?

Is this still on? even if it's just a few, I wouldn't mind a drive out to the mall.

(Correction to previous post: 1 pm?)

Tell me about this rain and cold pattern. Here's what I have WAITING to be installed/used on my car. It's been sitting in my family room for 2 months!

It consists of a Basslink II, new tweets and center, window roll up module, LOC for basslink, Door edge guards, color matched mud flaps, trunk mat (I'll do that when I do the basslink), carpeted floormats (I put the all weather in and removed the carpet ones to keep them pretty), nice new rags and an entire Zaino kit to clean 'er up!

Remember that 1 day it was like 80. I managed to put on the TL-S lip and the TL-S rear side markers.

Haven't had a day nice enough to start anything.

Anyone want to come down and have a mod party. I'll by the beer and pizza

Well I'm a Zaino 'virgin' , was a Mothers man on my 626, which really did preserve that car for 12 years, black with no clear coat. I panic'ed the 1st time I waxed her and the rag was coming off black. Back in '94 the dealer told me that they stopped clear coating dark cars due to the acid rain stains (totally obvious on my '85) were worse to deal with (and I agree).

Can't wait for a warm weekend to say "screw the lawn, the laundry, the house cleaning and everything else" and dedicate 2 days to a detail!

Rick

I remember the first day i Zainoed my TL...what a great day it was. The Zaino stuff is awsome. I mainly use Z2pro and it give my Antrachite great reflectivity. The Z5pro give that warmer gloss and the CS give it extra thump..lol

Here some tip for washing if you dont already know:

-Never wash the car in a circular motion. Go up and down or side to side.
-Wash From Top to Down

Since you have Zaino, these are the procedures i would recommend.
-Wash
-clay
-buff off residue
-Apply Z5 pro or Z2 pro....if layering add the ZFX stuff (read zaino instruction, Max 3 layers)
-Always finish with Z2pro...for best gloss.
-Use the Z6 (i think) gloss enchancer...done

The first application is always more work, but it all worth it the next day. Once the wax/polish cures....It is sooo much better then when u bought it. I notice that once you Zaino it, the dirt just comes off when it rain or u just spray it down. To maintain the new car look, just follow up with a coat of Z2pro or Z5pro.

If you dont have one, get a good drying towel..like Sonus drying towel. Also, im not sure about those rags. The material might make micro scratches or swirls on the car. I used terry cloth on my, but detailers recommend microfiber towels.

I have became a avid reader of http://autopia.org/forum/detailing-product-discussion/

Great info regarding detailing ur car.

Here my TL with a coat of Z5pro(first time using, had the old formula last time) and CS.

Oh yeah, here a pic of my previous 95 Mustang GT(lil sis totaled it ) . I put only 1 coat of Z2pro on it. It was a Great Car and it died looking Great. Since a week later i wax/polished it sis totaled it.

Sorry for all this Zaino talk...I only mention products that i would recommend.

it seems to be a great product but just too much work for me with two kids I don't have all weekend to detail my car, usually only half a day.

The prep is the most work, since you want a clean surface for Zaino for the first time. After then it just like any other wax application...wax on wax off. This stuff is super easy to buff off..no effort.

Hmmm, don't see many modded Acuras down here in Elkton/North East, this is Civic-land Uh, well, don't even see that many Acuras PERIOD!

Last night I did see an aqua (blue?) cl (unmodded and dirty) blowing off of 279 going east (south) on 40, I slowed down to let her in the left lane, but she didn't move over... She quickly caught up to the car in front of her so she braked to avoid running in to her. I slowed AGAIN to let a fellow acura'er over.. I didn't trust trying to pass her so I slowed again (the 4TH time) to let her in. She finally figured it out and blew over and took off again (flooring it I assume).

It's a shame that such a nice car was being operated by such an inexperienced driver. Was she in a hurry?? Maybe, but look around hun, I gave you all the opportunity in the world to move over. On cell phone ?? Nope.. sipping coffee??? Nope.. Got her drivers licence free when she supersized her Big Mac meal?? Yup!

I have been noticing alot of that red color TL in the bear/new castle area. I saw one on friday night after picking lil sis up from UD. It was on rt 7 and 40 interdection. I looked over and that person wasnt looking so...probably not anyone here. There more TSX then TL ...i think.

I HATE those drivings that seem unpredictable, when u see them in front of you. I always try to keep my distance from them.

Looks like a Zaino weekend for me!! Will probably only put on the mud flaps and door edge guards. Want to concentrate on detailing it. I will pick another weekend to do the audio and other mods. Can't wait to see this car CLEAN, although it's cursed as I picked it up in the rain so it will forever be dirty

same here only I may go a step further and claybar the car as well and I use the NXT wax so I think it would be Mothers claybar package, mcguiars cleaner wax followed by a nice coat of NXT. this is going to be a great weekend to bad it could not have been nicer during the week we could have set up a small meet in DE.

Sooo, pics??

Do you think for maintenance waxing Z2 or Z5 (on NBP)? I'm a zaino newbie, things turned out good 1st time but I want to probably wax every-other wash (or week, or whatever) if time permits.
