All the 350z's will be out with us! Everybody has turned this into a big mega meet of some kind! Yall ever seen an AWD 350z? Well one will be out with me and Dirty that day of the meet! Also, Ive been hearing that this meet has been on the other car forums, it was told to me that a large amount of cars are coming besides us! As follows(BMW M3's, 350z/G35's, Maximas, STI's, and EVO's) If this is so, them DAMN! Its going to be alot of peoples on the road!!! Thats crazy!

My only concern is that with this many cars running around together, there will invariably be a few assholes that do some seriously stupid shit. We need to make sure that those few assholes don't screw it for the rest of us.

AWD 350Z...wtf?!! Insane!

Has/does anyone know anything about getting media coverage? I contacted the local biggies (NBC4, FOX5, ABC7 & CBS9) about ten days ago. Haven't heard back from any of them.

Any thoughts or suggestions?:shrug:

What did you tell them? We may need some type of charitable cause to get their attention unless we cause a traffic jam or accident. They will get back to you eventually.

Now we have to be careful because with media comes Police so we will have to be on our P's / Q's

If the group gets big enough, I would recommend contacting the police department in Front Royal (or whichever municipality is in control at the entrance we will enter from) and requesting an escort through the town in order to avoid the problems we had last year with having to put people in harm's way and stopping traffic.

As for media coverage, rather than going after the big stations, try local stations such as WJLA8 or even magazines and newspapers. If one media source catches on to this, the others will likely follow.

Ingress and the Popo
 

I contacted the FRPD. The captain I spoke with showed confidence that a 50-car convoy (that's the number I used) could safely navigate and maintain cohesion through the 4 traffic lights using the suggested ingress route listed here. Key point being: Use Exit 13!

The FRPD also advised that the Rt. 55 entrance to Front Royal has recently had its speed limit reduced from 35 to 25.

The park police are cool when my friend had a problem with his car the last time I was there the cop on duty was very helpful and chill we even had him park behind my friends car with lights on for pictures hahaha. Also if I’m correct the Corvette guys have 2 meets a year at skyline drive and they come with at least a 100 cars so if we have 50 cars it won’t be that much more then last years Acurazine meet and I think it went very smoothly.

I agree with Unevanko..we need a charitable cause to get their attention. If anything, we could setup a somewhat short car show and donate all the money to an organization:dunno: But then don't think we have enough time to do all that:shrug:

Well, last year we had the problem of stopping in a parking lot just before getting onto Skyline to regroup, which cost us a lot of time.

If we stay organized this year and skip the last minute regroup, or wait until we get onto Skyline Drive to reorganize, we should be okay.

And if we can get up to 100 cars, including all of the other groups that may be joining us, then we can revisit the police issue.

The stop I thought was good to regroup , eat , gas-up, bathroom , photos etc.
I think we may have surpassed the 100 car count including other clubs.

yea u figure 50 acuras and then 10 cars from every other group (that may be an understatement) thats an easy 100 cars

Eveybody can count me in. Im definitly down to for a cruise. When I used to own a prelude I went to a meet before except we got a spot at I believe Sandy Point State Park and BBQ'd. That was a good time. There were bimmers and some supras there too. In fact we should have a BBQ!

For those in Leg 2. Should we go North on 295 or 95. What about meeting in front of Circuit City? I think 95 will be easier to stay together (more lanes to pass) just my :2cents:. What you guys think?

Here we are members about a week out from the Skyline Dr. Mega meet and everything seems to be going smoothly. Lets keep it that way! Its looks like the weather forcast is going to be beautiful! It may be on the cooler side 60-70 degrees and quite chilly in the later hours so dress accordingly. Remember the temp. is a little cooler in the mountains. The recent rain and lower temps. should be the recipe for some very colorful fall leaves. Remember if there are any leaves on the road driving becomes hazardous so pay attention to speed. We are all adults so we dont need a lecture. Lets have fun but think before you act. What you do or dont do can affect the whole group.Dont forget ID's, auto registration, insurance info., tools and jumper cables. Check your rims/tires, engine fluids, belts , spare tire/jack and lights. Please be careful of whats on your person, vehicle and in your blood stream that day in case you are stopped by the police. Know your driving ability, capabilities of your vehicle and dont push it to that limit. We want to have good memories and not tradegy. Lets police each other and come home in one piece.
