Atlanta Meet April 14th 2007

First GA MECA show is 3/10/07. Address is: GA Racing Hall of Fame, 415 Hwy. 53 East, Dawsonville, GA 30534

More info on MECA: www.mecacaraudio.com

MECA show sponsor: www.hybrid-audio.com

Check them both out!

If ya'll want I will be glad to donate some trophies and we could vote for best whatever or 'judges' could be appointed. I'll donate 5 trophies. These are nice ones too! 27" tall, 3 posts. Pick 5 things and I will get them relabeled. If there is enough interest I will pitch in more trophies.

Things to be determined.

Judging criteria: Start listing ideas

Judges or a vote? I propose judges. The owner/founder of Hybrid would be perfect.

Whos cooking?

Whos coming?

Who can maintain this thread?

later!

Kirk!

Kirk, is there a general admissions to these type of events? Also, is this an open area event where we could park together or is it like NOPI where those who aren't showing park in the general area?

Park where you want to. No admission. Just show up. Its only about 45-50 miles from the Chattanooga 285 exit according to mapquest. This will be just a small car stereo show (40 or so vehicles) and I am hoping 20 or so folks from here hanging out. Nothing more. You can go watch the DB vehicles burp, listen to some SQ cars, check out Hybrid-Audio's speakers/demo cars and druel over all the Acuras. Very laid back. I'll bring the grill!

I stand corrected. The Speedway does charge a whole $5 for parking. There is food onsite and a restaurant across the street I am told. The show is in the parking lot so everyone can park together.

One question? Is this a Acura Meet, or do all types of cars go? sorry this might sound dumb, i just need to see if my friends can come, one of them has a really nice sound system.

Everyone is invited. The stereo folks will be parked together. The Acurazine folks will be parked together. The rest scattered where ever. I am hoping for about 60 vehicles total.

Bitch, that's 10 minutes from my house, literally. Quit bitching. May be afterwords, we can have a grilleout at my house or something? Considering I'm so close.

I'l have to see about this one. It sounds like a lot of fun. I haven't been up that way since my Wife (then girlfriend) was in the Ms. GA Pageant. Would we do a cruise up there, or just meet there?

Not everyone lives in the sticks like you do, foo! If we're going to grill out afterwards, some of us better get some breakfast first. I was starving the last time. LOL

Kirk, what time does the event start so that those of us who want to do a cruise up there can arrange a time to meet up before heading out there?

Between 11-12 is good. We have to be there at 8am to set up the tents and stuff to get the MECA show going. By 11 they should be running the SPL cars thru the lanes.

I had to drive 4x further than you, every other meet.

'Bama boys take the cake for distance, though.

atlanta has a pretty nice street scene up near delk road so i hear... my friend has a civic and visits frequently... what about a meet for just acurazine guys in or around atlanta instead of a co-op sort of meet in the middle of nowhere?

I agree.

Let's set something up, like the meet back in January. That's the kind of meets I enjoy, anyway, not show-type meets.

if anyone else is interested one of my favorite places to drive in atlanta is buckhead/sandy springs... mt. paran is very long and has nice curves and straight aways. if you start on roswell or northside parkway you can get some nice large 4-lane straight street driving before getting on to mt. paran or long island for some mountainesque 2-lane street driving... the best of both worlds. ive gone from rio grande on roswell up to long island to mt. paran to northside parkway and ending at okay cafe in approximately 20-30 minutes averaging 60mph. would anyone be interested in a cruise meet starting at one of those locations and doing that drive? if not im interested in an alternative route/location

Now that Sandy Springs is officially a "city", their police departments are acting like freshly graduated cadets straight from the academy. I wouldn't advise going more than 5 miles above the city limits if you plan to drive through there. I should know, I see them all the time when I go to/from work everyday.

As for a regular meet, I don't know of a good location that we can meet at without exhausting all of our old hang outs. And during the summer, there was a suggestion to meet up at Lake Lanier at our last meet. We can have a regular meet after the MECA meet if people can't make this one.
