wow great idea since the highway to vegas has no lights. and once we are in henderson county in vegas, most the roads in rural places have very few lights. (1 every 2-3 miles in parts) i know a canyon there that would be a great place.

i think if everyone is going to put in 4+ hours of driving, mind as well p ut in a little bit more for vegas. vegas would e best for cruise part of meet. (which is the best)

Please do that. If you could, take a pic or survey the area on Saturday. I want to see how crowded the area is.

The other suggestion from the SoCal meet is we will meet at Hearst Castle.

This might be a little far-fetched, but I've seen other car meets have them. We can invite some vendors, who might be near the proximity of wherever the meet will be held to show up. And they can, if they want have participate in a raffle of some sort.

Well, I think it all boils down to where the meet is. That way we can locate some of the nearby vendors/sponsors and propose to them the offer. I'm sure they would be more than pleased to join us, especially if we have a nice turn out, fun events, and maybe we can even get some type of news and journalists to come to write about the event.

One thing I did not tell everyone at the BBQ meet is that I might/can get Meguiar to sponsor us at any future meet. What they do is just give most if not everyone a small gift bag with sample products.
We need all the connection we could so if anyone can help out to find anykind of vendors/sponsors, it would be cool. I send invitation to couple import magazines before but none reply back. Maybe i send to the wrong person, or whatever reason, but once we have finalize the date and place, I'll send them more emails to see if they decide to come out and write about the event.

Sometime next month, I will visit the dealer (Tustin Acura) and I'll ask them to see if they want/could sponsor us in anyway. If anyone go to the dealer, can you ask to see if they interest on sponsoring the event?

That's a great idea. I think it would get more positive response if you had an actual date/time/place so it will seem to them like a more throughly planned event, rather than just a get together.

Also, Lac, are you going to be the one putting this event together? If so, would I forward all the information to you?

Yea, a huge place. I would even suggest a parking lot that we can rent or get exclusive rights to for a certain amount of time.

It would be a shame if we get all the vendors/sponsors there just to be kicked out by parking lot enforcement or cops.

Learning from the last SoCal Mega meet, we better plan/contact local vendors/ sponsors there to ensure we have exclusive place for atleast few hours meet. It may be on extreme side, but we might have to notify local cops first to see how they think about the meet. We also might need to check with CHP so that they can know first hand and possible clear out the road for us during the trip up. It maybe very slim chance that they did that for us, but I know they will clear the road ahead on the way to Vegas for Chrysler 350C car club that will go to SEMA next week (approx 200 cars with maybe one helicopter for filming) . Let see if I can contact one of the guy there to see how he did that.

I would def be at this meet regardless of my car's status. And if it runs, I'll def bring her to it. Even though I'm in Tx, this trips only takes me a day since I don't sleep at night. I drive from Tx to Cali in one day all the time. Been doing it since high school. Let's get this Mega Meet going

I think if we are going to mess around with sponsors and vendors, maybe we should put more thought in the All-Cali meet. Atleast I think that would be more of a turnout that might look better to the vendors. Hell maybe we could just ask the vendor to use there parking lot for our meet, that should drum up business in there store. just an idea

when i spoke to the Bay area's organizer(Neorick), he suggested we get vendors involved. my first thought was a local dealer. but before i call them or anyone else, i have to speak to someone in city hall or some form of authority before we set in stone this location. i would like to have Comptech come out. they are based out of El Dorado Hills which is a little northeast of Sacramento. we'll see about these guys.

apparently, we have a hookup for Meguiars. so that'll be cool. and then again, once we know of the definite location, i want to contact the local Acura dealership to see what they can do.

i'll be making some phone calls...

Whats the estimated time we are planning to have this meet in? 3 months? Half a year?

Yea, that would be a great idea if the vendor has a large space available. I remember a few years back I went to an acura rsx meet at a national state park. They actually let you reserve different parking lots, so something like that would be a good idea too. Of course every car had to pay like $5 for parking admittance.

i've made some calls and gotten in contact with some people. i'll release some details soon. and according to the AZ Acura dealership directory, the closest dealer to Pismo is Superior Acura in Bakersfield. that's a ways from our spot. we'll see what other vendors we can pick up.

My 2 cents:

I think it’s time to organize ourselves as a real car club with members, officers, etc, etc. I think we have grown into more than just a group of Acura enthusiasts. Vendors, sponsors and dealers would take us seriously.

I think we can look to the Dallas -Fort Worth Acura club for advice.

This looks like a very promising meet and it looks like its heading the directions you are mentioning. I'm looking forward to this meet and I bet its going to be a huge turnout!

Some vendors/sponsors that need in contact:
Meguiar's
Comptecth
Apexi
Eibach
Local Acura dealer
Acura headquarter
Import car magazine: such as Import tunner, Sport compact car, etc.
Import tunning shop such as Super Autobac, etc...
Pismal Beach city and Prime outlets owner
Local restaurants
Tire companies
...................................and many more

So our first objective is to find the location that could potential give us event permit by city official of that location, how much it cost to rent the place (if any), and any vendors/sponsors that will promiss to sponsors us to pay for the cost if the event happens. To be able to do that each of us need to contribute in anyway as we can to be able to make this Mega All-California meet event to happen.

Mike (aznbo187) mentions about National State Park meet, and I think it might be the best place for the meet if they can reserve one section just for us. Mike: do you what's the name of national state park that hosted the rsx? Anyone know state park near central coast?

Let's hear more ideas and keep everyone update

...................................and many more

So our first objective is to find the location that could potential give us event permit by city official of that location, how much it cost to rent the place (if any), and any vendors/sponsors that will promiss to sponsors us to pay for the cost if the event happens. To be able to do that each of us need to contribute in anyway as we can to be able to make this Mega All-California meet event to happen.

Mike (aznbo187) mentions about National State Park meet, and I think it might be the best place for the meet if they can reserve one section just for us. Mike: do you what's the name of national state park that hosted the rsx? Anyone know state park near central coast?

Let's hear more ideas and keep everyone update
i can imagine all of those companies asking "when" would this meet be taken place....
