I'm down for pismo. NorCal repp'.

 

Alright, let get this thing going. Few question that we need to know/ agree before we can start planning for the meet:

1. Can I make safe assumption that we are all agree the meet location will be somewhre in PISMO BEACH. Is everyone agree?

2. Will we stay overnight (meet on Sat, and go back home on Sunday) or come to the meet and go back home on the same day (everyone will be driving for 3-4hrs one way)? I think stay overnight, but what everyone else thinking?

3. If we stay overnight, need to plan for whole day activities (camping, party/hangout at the beach, cruising to Solvang, etc...). Please list all activities that you want to participate. Remember that we need to have some kind of activity that most of us can participate.

4. When is the best time that we can meet at Pismo beach: April, May, or June? Anyone know?

I'll do some research this weekend and see what we can come up with.

 

I think pismo is a great compromise location. I am down for camping too...

I'm in for pismo but i'm pretty used to doing that drive so it'll be a day trip for me.

 

let's keep this going!! i can help out Huy with the LA area, too.

 

sounds like a plan if I can take time off work......pismo beach would be cool to spend a day or two at relaxing.

me, Huy(LacViet) and Jon(subtledreamer) will definitely be talking about the planning phase for this meet. i'd say we've had a fair share of guys expressing approval of this. so it should definitely go forward with it.

i also think we should make this open to AZ members from neighboring which are willing to attend.

my bad. in the last sentence of my last post, i meant to say the meet should be open to neighboring states such as Washington, Nevada and Arizona as long as they are up for it.

 

From the pismo beach website, the temperature is pretty consistency throughout the year: max 72F, min 42F; howerver, the precipitation is another story. See below:


Based on the chart above the best month for us to meet is from May to Sept which also is the busy season for tourists. My choice is May since the tourist season is just begining which hotel room might still cheap and not too crowd.

If some of us decide to come to the meet and drive back home on the same day, there is no need for planing anything else beside the main meet. Now, I think majority of us will stay overnight at Pismo beach or nearby place before drive home on the next day, then here is the plan: We will meet at Prime Outlets at Pismo Beach (click at the link) which is about a mile from the main Pismo Beach Pier. From there, we can have the meet until afternoon then headout for a place to stay. We can break into small group for dinner/drinks or go for dinner/drink someplace as a whole big group. The next day plan is to have breakfast either at the beach again, or drive to anyone of the wineries nearby (around 10-15 miles away) to have picnic breakfast and wine tour before each of us head home.
So, How's the plan appeal to you?
let's hear everyone vote for the following question:
First question is when? May, Jun, July, August, or September?
The second question is place to meet? I pick Prime Outlets mall based on the map above. Does anyone know the Prime Outlets mall is good place to meet? Any other place?
Third: what do we do at night time? and on next day morning?

Guess we will talk more about this at the SoCal meet this weekend. Let's hear your opinion so we can start planning for this extradinary event.

 

one word, VEGAS

 

it never really crossed my mind since there was talk (and an entire thread) of having a national Acurazine meet in Las Vegas. though i'm sure we would be able to have so many more attend, i didn't want to intrude on that.

 

then again this is a CALIFORNIA meet not a Nevada meet.... and the Month of May sound good to me... rain is my enemy

Here's a crazy idea since driving to Pismo will take 3-4 hours from San Diego. How about Las Vegas? Wanna take over Sin City with our Acuras? Now that would be sick!!! While we're at it invite the rest of Southwest region!!!

It takes around 3 hours to get to Pismo from San Jose also, so I don't see why not.

hmm..Pismo Beach. Awesome place. I graduate from SLO 2005. Had the SLO life, but back to SJ now. It's a great location, but I dont know where everyone car can fit. The beach is ALWAYS pack with cars on the weekend. One thing I will say though...your car will be be a bug magnet.

Ahhhh yes I saw it after I finally scrolled up, thank you It will be nice to be by the beach specially in May. I never been there before, anybody know how the bar scene is and the ladies?

 

That's actually a good place to meet. I was about to suggest it. The parking isnt that full depending on the time of the day. Obviously if it's a All-California meet, it might be an issue. A few other suggestion is Avila Beach and Madonna Inn. Not many people know about Avila Beach though, lol. I was at an Acura Legend meet at Madonna Inn a few years back. I dont know how the weather is going to be at that time; but all I can say is it is little bit windy down there. I like the weather down there, you just never know what it will be the next day!

Btw: Not that it matters or anything, I'm also vietnamese.

I'm down for Pismo, parking would be a bitch though if you want to be anywhere near the beach. I go there once or twice a year.

 

i haven't been there and have seen only a few pics of the area. are there any locals to this area in the house?

 

This is the place I am thinking for the meet Prime Outlets . SupaRookie also suggests this place also.

If anyone lives around the area, can you take the pics of the Prime Outlets?

im down to meet wherever just as long as the place is easy to find... theres nothing worse than driving for 3 hours and not finding the place youre driving too
