well real ale is currently not doing weekend tours ( one of my favorite beers). they may start in the fall time though so maybe another day. next on the list is shiner and they also do not do weekend tours. so there goes my other favorite beer brewery out the window. so that leaves us with driving out to a good restaurant. maybe a nice long drive and then hit the salt lick?? they have damn good bbq.
and did i mention all you can eat for ~$15

Do I fit in?
Hey,
I'd be interested in meeting up for this, if you don't mind my pig of a car compared to most of you guys [It's an Acura, it's a turbo, but it's not a sleek sports car, it's an RDX].
I'm located in San Antonio, so it's only about an hour away from the meeting place.

Just like the first 2 times, there will be a group driving down on Friday after work from the Dallas area. If you want to caravan please contact me and I'll find someone for you to meet up with. Saturday the meet will start around 9am, the drive at 10, and so on.
We have had 2 great successes in the past with these, so I see no reason to change the location or the order of events. Im open to suggestions.
Bring you're radios!!!!!
Plan on:
9am Meeting at a central point on the 29th - Undecided.....probably Sterling Acura.
10am Taking a drive through the hill country.
1230-1pm Stoping for some lunch some where GREAT!
2pm Taking a scenic drive back to civilization.
8pm Going out that night for dinner/drinks
**All times subject to change, but this is general outline of the event as of January 29th**

Salt Lick sounds like a great idea.
However, I might not be in town that weekend. There is a race in LA (just outside of New Orleans) that weekend that I am still on the fence about.

This is a great ride and you will not regret spending a Sat. ATXCLS usually has a great route that will provide a fun time and some challenging driving if you try to keep up with Chops in the S2000 or ATXCLS in whatever he is driving, maybe the Viper.

sounds fun =D
Dang I really wanna go to the meeting =D
Hope I don't have any tests to study for =(
I live in Austin (5mins away from Sterling Acura) so it's really nice!
Some good places to eat that I know of:
BBQ-
Salt Lick or County Line - Salt Lick has a ALL YOU CAN EAT for around $18 bucks a person (only sucky thing is they only bring one big plate to share between ppl even tho like 3-4 ppl order it). County Line has YUMMY bread and honey butter - also located by the river great view. Their BBQ is good as well!
Italian-
Brick Oven - good italian restaurant. they have really good specialty pizzas and pastas. It's on Slaughter LN (close to sterling Acura)
Johnny Carino's - Also good italian restaurant. I like em both. (there's one on Brodie LN)
BUFFET (You guys prob want to go somewhere nicer right? not some buffet hehe)
First China - Chinese buffet with different variety of sushi and they also have sashimi. Good deserts (sarah lee cheese cakes! yum) $9~ /person
Buffet Palace - Korean / Japanese / Chinese buffet. Similar to First China. $8-9~ / person
Golden Corals - American Buffet. Have pretty much any "american" food you can think of. $6-8 / person
Theres also new ITALIAN Buffet. Never been there and friends told me they're pretty good. i think about 12 /person
Japanese
Shogun - On Slaughter n Manchaca. Best traditional cooked food i ever had.
Mikado Ryotei- "High" level Japanese restaurant. Great food, great environment = expensive hehe. Dinner plates are like $20ish. Great food tho and it fills you up.
Uchi - I think this place is rated FIRST over all the restaurants in Austin. It's more of a Fusion type of a food. Never been there but only hear good stories about them.
Umi - Pretty big and good Japanese restaurant near Sterling Acura.
Korean
Seoul Sushi aka D.K Sushi - Small but great place. They do some crazy stuff on MONDAY nights (too bad we won;t be there) Owner is hella crazy hes fun fun guy haha he does stand up jokes and kareoke kinda deal. good food good people
There is no other korean restaurants down south unless we would go up north.
Korea House - Korean restaurant where we can cook the meats oursevles on the table and it eat. It's really fun and they have some good meat with other korean foods.
Chinese
First China - Best Chinese - American food I EVER had. So good. They only use white meat for the sesame chicken and other foods are really good too.
Hunan - Pretty good chinese food restaurant. Also offers Korean-Chinese food which i love.
Thai
Madam Mams - Only thai food restaurant i know / been to. Pretty good! i love their milktea.
Others
And theres always
T.G.I
***Cheesecake Factory***
Chili's
Macaronis grill
andddd fast fooods!!
I can't really think of more ATM (in class rite now haha) but yeah. What kinda food are you guys craving? =D

Salt lick sounds good because the one where they offer all you can eat is kinda isolated - road is great for drive.
And cheesecake factory is always yummy =D
It would be awesome if we all show there with our pimp cars =)

geez i'm going to contact you for all my restaurant decisions. good list!
some things to keep in mind are parking and accommodations for our large group. we killed McAllister's Deli up in round rock our first meet. swamped their parking lot and then proceeded to turn a relatively small line into one of amusement park size. the gris mill down in gruene did a great job last year as they are use to large groups. should we make a list to take votes or wait until ATX posts a drive map?

We should prob. decide where we are going to eat before we do the maps. The Salt Lick is a good choice because there will already be maps made up for them "Hill Country Drive" folks.

I am getting wtih G and planning out the drive. If he is not able to make it I am planning on driving it a couple times before everyone comes so that I know it well. I will also make sure to print out maps this time as well. If you need anything else let me know.

Master MDX Driver
According to my work schedule, me and my MDX might actually get to come to this one! I've tried to attend since the last years in Feb, but Uncle Sam had other plans for me! Crossing my fingers!
