1/31/09 illinois carting
where:melrose park grand prix

when: 1/31 at 7pm. meet up at 6:30pm
cost: $45 for 3 sessions which last between 8-10 min (9-12 laps) (feels a lot longer). $10 each additional session after that.
if we get 10 or more ppl it will be $35 for each person instead of $45
if u have long pants and long sleeve shirts u dont need to wear a racing suit like other places make u, if u have your own helmet, great, if not they supply you with one.
with another group on the track it take about 1-2hrs to go through the 3 sessions. its good to get a couple min breaks so you can rest.
a few ppl were interested and missed the last one, so we are doing it again.
its addicting and tones of fun.

FYI the bitch at the front desk told me last time that they weren't doing the $35 for 10 ppl or more discount anymore.

i definitely did some drifting.... like on the 1st lap of the 1st race I took out 3 karts and got stuck in the wall. I felt like i was on the Dan Ryan.
wish it was a bit more realistic to be honest... the laps i actually slowed down to take the corners at legit speeds were some of my worst ones.

I was thinking it was on the 29th! I feel like an idiot.......saturdays I work 8am-6pm and its a 45 min (I can probably cut it down to 30)ride from west chicago. All I have to do is catch 64 all the way to melrose park so I might be a little late. But yea I'm still up for it, who else is going?
The weather is amazing here.
