I agree and yet disagree on point #5.

Point #5 would've made more sense if he referenced the RLX instead of the ZDX. I know for the 2013 ZDX, with only 1 trim, dealers weren't willing to budge much on price. Probably because all 4 Acura dealers in my area, only had 1 (no more than 2) ZDX in inventory.

He is assuming the internet hasn't been invented yet and you have to go to the local dealership. He should of added:
7). Always ask for everything you want upfront instead of trying to add it in after the deal is made. Easier to take something off the table compared putting on after heated negotiations.
8). Use Internet sale office, savings can be found if you and internet sales person doesn't have to move from your chairs to negotiate. Very helpful for price wars with several dealerships at the same time.
9) Be willing to travel if you use internet sales department. A 4 hour round trip drive for $40 could save you $500-$1000 on the vehicle price.
10) Check on rebates. Sometimes sales department offer a cheaper price that includes rebates factored in. My in-laws had this problem with Toyota when they purchased their Rav4.
11) Always feel good about the deal on your end. A good deal today is a good deal tomorrow. You should never feel rushed like you have to take it right now or it is gone forever.
12) Be willing to walk away. They are making and selling new cars everyday.
