04 RSX Type S Startup issue when cold?
Hello everyone,
My 04 RSX Type S has an issue starting when it's cold.
What happens is when I try starting it, it seems to fight me like it doesn't want to fire up. It will start after a couple tries and when I do get it started if I try to give it gas right away it will stall. So what I do is I will start it, it will waiver around 1000 RPM's and I will then give it a little bit of gas and let the RPMs climb up and I'll hold it around 2000 RPMs for literally a few seconds and it's fine.
Any ideas? If my car is warm, it will start up without any issues and when I'm driving it literally has no problems then as well.
I'm probably going to have my battery checked at VIP or something to see if that's the problem.
I had it Inspected recently and my CEL threw a code for P0118 which is Engine coolant temperature sensor. Any possibility that's effecting my start up?

I was reading about the engine coolant temp sensor and I read it tells your computer whether or not the engine is warm, sounds likely that the temp sensor is seeing that my engine is cold and after trying to start it a few times it allows it to start. Does that make sense?
