First oil change coming up...
It’s about that time for me to do the first oil change on my 2016 ILX. Just curious to know what kind of experience people have had with different oils. I’ve always been a Castrol buyer, but been leaning more towards M1 for this car just because. I just wanna know if anyone’s experienced anything like the motor running quieter (or louder) with one oil over another, etc....now this car only has 19.5k miles so it’s still fresh. Thanks.

The 16+ ILX uses a tried and true higher performance variant of the Direct Injection Earth Dreams K24. So long as you use a quality oil that is API SN or SN+ grade you should be fine,
I initially ran the Acura Genuine Full Synthetic for the first several oil changes because I had a good price on them through the dealership, eventually transitioning M1 or what ever trusted brand was on sale.
In the future I've been keen to try Amazons brand of SN+ Full Synthetic due to the convenience (free one day shipping) and pricing.

Oil brand is like religion, use whichever brand you worship; in the end, it will make absolutely zero difference in the life of your engine.
