Bump stops?

Hey Acurazine,

Like an idiot i decided to skip breakfast, lunch and i guess not consume enough water on a 99 degree day and ended up getting heat stroke.

Luckily i was borrowing my parents drive because it's flatter than mine so someone was home when i just about blacked out. But these arent my questions: my stepdad was nice enough to finish up my rear shock install (KYB Excel-G) however, i dont think we transferred the bump stops.

To be honest i usually purchase fully built strut assemblies to save time but went with just the shocks this time to save some cash. Am i going to have to tear it all apart again and install the bump stops?

Yes.

The bumpstops are meant to act as "helper" springs. They are almost always engaged, IIRC.

Plus, you'll need them to like...stop bumps.

They aren't likely "always engaged" but yes, you should throw them in there.

On Accords, the bumpstops are engaged almost 100% of the time. My assumption for TL's is that its similar.

Lots of cars use constant or almost constant engagement bumpstops.

Either case, i was able to re-remove the shocks and install the bump stops. I rebuilt the top hats as well which was also skipped.

Also took the opportunity to swap out the endlinks for moogs. Whoever is responsible for the design of those allen key bolt things needs to be tied to a chair and beaten.
