Bent front subframe, how screwed am I?

Hi,

So, I hit a raised manhole cover and it screwed my alignment up. Took it to the suspension shop and they said the front suspension looked ok when they put it on the alignment rack... He suggested the subframe might be bent and I should take it to a bodyshop.

I have an appointment, but I'm curious... If it can't be pulled straight, how much do you think it will cost to replace the subframe? I'm guessing we will use a junkyard part so I'm guessing that wont be too bad, but how bad will labor be? Subframe sounds very... connected to many things.

Any ideas how much of a bill I'm going to be in for?

Thanks!

rough estimate would be low $1000s

Subframe? Shouldn't be TOO bad at all.

I'll put things into perspective for you, a shop wanted to charge 2.5 hours of labour to drop my subframe to change out the motor mounts.

Spindles usually bend before subframes.

In what way is the alignment off?
