Aftermarket headlights for 06 TL base

Anyone know where I can find some aftermarket headlights for an 06 base TL. I’ve thought about clearing them but don’t wanna mess it up. How much would it be to get it done by someone else?

Walmart will restore for like 30-40. I pay a paint guy $60 to restore and hit with clear coat.

If you aren’t looking for anything special for headlights and just want them cleaned up just pay someone to do it. Just make sure they clear it or seal somehow. Any aftermarket lights will end up being $300-400 for a set new, and will fit/operate like doodoo in the one experience I had with a DEPO light. Could have just been a bad experience but plenty of other members have had issues with them.

If you’re set on getting “new” lights, I have an OEM set that I blacked out and restored. Just need to put back together before selling. I’ll be selling after. Wasn’t trying to turn this into a buy my shit thread but if you’re interested lmk

When you say "clearing," I"m assuming you're talking about removing the amber diffuser? If you're looking for a set of cleared OEM 04-06 cleared headlights (with no painted internal components), I still have my original set that I worked on previously and am willing to part with. I'm also not trying to make this a "buy my stuff" thread either, but you inquired about how much it would cost to get it done by someone else. My headlights will likely be going up for sale in the Marketplace shortly.

If you build up the courage, here are links to my DIYs as well.

^ definitely like your DIY threads!

I don't have the balls to attempt opening them up. I had JNC do it back in the day, and now need the lenses sanded and cleared! I’m probably overthinking it, but, I am scared to attempt myself! Personal problems......

I used one of the drill kits and it left all sorts of swirls.
If I were you I’d just pay the money to have them restored and cleared

Use the sanding discs from one of those kits, throw away the silly drill thing, and polish with a DA instead.

I still need to settle on a coating though...

I agree. You can use the sanding discs, but the drill attachments suck.

I used the Meguiar's Heavy Duty headlight Restoration kit and it left tons of swirls. I finished it up with a DA and Megs 105. They look beautiful now.

I’ve just had a bad taste since I did my own lol.
Instead of investing in a DA I’ve just had them done. I’ll get one one day lol

You don't have a DA!?

Does your NBP's paint live in Swirl City, Utah?

Lol it has some stuff that needs addressed. I bought a kit that has a drill attachment (the Meguires stuff) and am waiting for the weather to cool down to restore it. But yeah, I haven’t invested in a DA yet

A few of you in this thread mentioned having your headlights modified. Who do you contact to do this? I've searched on the forum and can't find any current threads that show people willing to do this. I started a thread on this subject with very little response. Can you direct me to someone that would be willing to do this? Thanks!!

Bruce with endlessRPM does it. Wusty and myself did ours ourselves. I’ve done a couple and sold them to members but that’s about it. Never had a set sent to me lol

It's actually such tedious work to do this type of stuff.

We're not supposed to provide services (aka make money off people) on Acurazine without being a vendor or using the Black Market forum so anyone that steps up to your post MAY be banned (this is what happened to SharksBreath), but alas mods have been much less uptight recently so it may slide.
Back in the day I used to offer to do it for people in Ontario but made it clear that I wasn't providing a service, that we worked together as a team, and claimed no responsibilities.

I don't know if Bruce is still doing headlights as I don't see many posts anywhere even on FB about it anymore, but he's the first person I would contact.

I've seen this company's work and was impressed:

Yup, I agree. Bruce from EndlessRPM would be my first suggestion as well. Check out his Instagram page, "EndlessRPM." You might have to scroll for a while, but you'll see a lot of examples.

Like guitarplayer16 said, I don't know if Bruce has done any recently, but I'm sure he'd still consider it if you asked.

I contacted Bruce and gave him specifics on what I am wanting and didn't hear back from him.

Who is 6ish and what is his website?

Thanks for the lightwerkz option. I will check them out.

I have an extra pair of Type S headlights that are a little hazy that I was wanting to restore before I sold them. What would I search for locally as far as a good place to get them restored? Would I just look up auto detailers or some speciality type of paint shops?

How did you contact Bruce? If it was on Acurazine, then please keep in mind that he doesn't use Acurazine as much as he used to, so he might have missed your message. Try contacting him at endlessrpm@gmail.com and see if you get a response.

I would try a paint shop. They would be able to wet sand and then hit with a clear easy for you

I contacted him via his gmail account. He responded fast, but I never heard from him again after I gave him information on what I was thinking of doing with my headlights. I sent him a pic from the endlessrpm instagram showing him what I wanted, but no return response.

You mentioned that you might try modifying them yourself, but I would try following-up with him again if you don't feel 100% comfortable tackling this project, especially if you purchased brand new headlights. You'd hate yourself if you screwed up a brand new expensive set.

But ultimately, if you're feeling confident, have at it my man! We're here if you have any questions.

Bruce does offer excellent customer support in my experience. He's works on soooo many projects that he may have just missed your message DMZ. I'm sure he would get back to you if you followed-up with him.
