I bet it would be very viable to be able to run those calipers...or even the 04 6MT brembo! Probably same part number, might be cheaper?

Are you an Acura tech? Must be nice to be able to use the lift! Nice clean shop.

Hi, another request here for the step-by-step on removing the interior and wood trims to replace with carbon fiber look. The wood accents really bugged me when I went in for a test drive. Thanks!

Car's coming along real nice. I am so happy they went back to 5x114. They should have never changed it in the first place. So hard to find Baller JDM wheels in 5x120. I got lucky.

Yes. 04 TL 6MT and 07-08 TL-S both shared the same part number. (L)45018-SEP-A60 (R)45019-SEP-A60

Vossen Vfs2 w/ Bronze finish is super nice. I am also considering switch to those on this car in the near future.

Hey Mike, you know Brian?
I LOVED that matte gunmetal on his, too...

But honestly, on this car, I think the ones you chose match the classy style and aggressive lines of the car really well.

I chatted with Brian a few times when he used to come by our dealership. Very talented dude. We acutally mounted the tires on those Vossen CV2 for him back then also.

I agree with you 100% with our current wheel, but I am a sucker for Bronze wheel finish.

Great look, Mike...loving the interior, although I didn't mind the wood either.
Yeah, Brian is a very talented guy, and even more so, a very nice person. Friend of mine...let me know if you want him involved in any grill/rear paint or custom work, he's driven these days and for a one off show TLX, he might be able to come up with something cool that'll make it stand out even more!

So Chan_Mike, can you settle the debate once and for all... now that you have taken the trim out of the car... is it REAL wood or FAKE wood??

Thanks for your compliment.

I hope I won't get killed for this but they not real wood. But one thing I have to say is that the TLXs interior fit and finish is superb. Acura also applied a ton of sound deadening materials at the interior. All panels and trims are very tight fitted along with great insulation between them. No wonder this vehicle is super quiet.

Hmmm...in ground lift, huh? I really should bring the S2000 by and get a proper alignment. Haven't done it yet.

Mike, that looks absolutely stunning. I am going to make a bold statement here...but the lines of the 5G with aspec remind me a LOT of the lines of the 3G with aspec.

I have a feeling that when people see this car, the ones that left because they felt alienated by the design direction Acura took on the last iteration...will return in droves. That thing is fargin sexy as hell.

I also agree with the car being stunning and more TL fans coming back for this gen. I was not not a big fan of the last gen TL look at first but it grows on you. With this gen I love the balanced approach to design.

Agreed!

I really do see a lot of similarities in the sweeping slender lines of the hood/trunk areas...a lot less abrupt...the aggressive headlight shape makes the car look mad. I see it, in a major way.

Obviously 3G was before beak...but same style and if you think about it, if it weren't painted and it was still silver like OEM, it was an early iteration of the beak.
Not trying to whore out, but I searched my flickr for a shot from similar angle to show.

rockstar143 you can whore your ride anytime. I love the blacked out look on 3G.

With TLX I am going with all black look.

I've been fortunate to own or have owned 3 out of 4 TL generation and can't wait to get my first TLX.

Everybody was waiting on a TLX with mods, we all knew it would just be a matter of time. As I've said many times before, the more pics of modded TLXs are posted, the more interest will be created for the TLX by enthusiasts. Car is looking great! A lot of people are favoring the TLX in silver, I'd be curious to see one lowered with nice wheels too.

Acura itself should spearhead this effort, if they don't want to spend millions on producing an additional trim level like a Type-S, the least they could do is spend a few thousand and have some modded up cars to show off.

I think they did that with the Prototype, but that caused frustration for many when they didn't deliver it.

LOVING the build. HATING this quote.

It is either forged or it is not.
The difference is tolerance. Forged bends, cast breaks. Period.

Like I said love the build though. Car looks gorgeous and so do the wheels. Just please please please dont hit a pot hole or any major bump in excess of 15mph.

I don't think it's as bad as you think, Jon...obviously, there's no debating that forged is stronger, but that's not enough to totally discredit all other shaping processes! I would be curious to see what the tolerances are for the stress test on this new flow forming process. I'm a fan of it because I'm personally a product of that process.

I wonder what Acura will bring to SEMA with the TLX? They brought TWO modded RLX's last time. RLXs... TWO of them. They better bring several bad-ass TLX's to the next show!

Honestly, I was just reacting to the term "forged-like". Felt that was a back hand to people that are willing to pay for real forged wheels.
Forged is expensive for a reason. I dont think a cast wheel, regardless of the process, can take a bend and be put back like a forged wheel can. It's not the strength but the tolerance at play here.

If the cast wheel is strong enough to NOT bend, awesome. But strengthening the wheel wont allow it to be bent back. It'll just stand up to stress longer but once it gives the result will be far worse than on a forged wheel.

Dont let my hate for the wheel undermine my love for this car right here. Looks fuckin titties if you ask me!

P.S. I love that the smiley you used it called mizouse. hahahaha
