Maintenance Reminders- problem
Hi I have a 2015 RDX that I purchased in May with 22k miles. I now have 29k miles and the maintenance reminder came on. Problem is I have and A3 and and A13 with a wrench. How is it possible that I need a transmission service at 29k miles? Is this typical? What should I say to the dealer tomorrow? I'm asking now because I have learned that I really need to know about my car before I get tricked, scammed by the dealer. Does this also mean that I'm going to have transmission problems with this car? I'm worried...

It seems that the 30K transmission drain/fill is not out of the ordinary for this model, although I've usually seen 50-75K for most other vehicles.
I recommend you shop around dealerships and see if there are any deals. I just dealt with a transmission/torque converter issue which suggests a ATF replacement, so it might be helpful for your car to complete the service.

Transmission service at 30K was the norm for my TSX, RDX, and MDX. After that, it might not show up again until 60K-120k mark (or longer) depending on driving conditions. AT service depends on the dealership because they can do a 1X drain and refill for around $100 or the suggested 3X drain/refill for around 3X more $$$. I wouldn't take to a local repair shop for transmission service unless you supply the Acura/Honda AT fluid. Acura ATs are picky on the type of fluid to use or they could fail in a very short time (learned the hard way on a 97 Accord 4AT back in the day with a Jiffy Lube AT special).
Sticking to the M.I.D. maint schedule is a good way to get 200,000 miles from the powertrain. At the same time, you don't have to service at the dealership if you like DYI or find a good local shop.
