To Buy A 14' ILX 2.0 Premium?
Hi All,
Just like the title states. I'm in the need for a new car and quite like the look of a clean (like new) 14 Acura ILX premium with 32k miles on it. Guy is selling it on craigslist for $14.5K (obo). Wanted to get your thoughts on this? I would want to try and pick it up for $13.5/14K. I'm a little turned off by the fact that Acura has barely sold them and that their sale are declining. I could see them discontinuing this car soon.
Some questions I had:
Is it really that noisy?
Is 150hp under powered for this car?
How is the overall ride quality?
Is it reliable? (Should be since it's a honda)
Thanks!

I think the price is fair for what you're planning to offer. Drive the car and spend sometime in it to see if this is something what you can see driving. As far as noise, it all depends if you are going to keep the car factory and what kind of tires you run on the car. Wind noise isn't and issue for me on my 2.4L but then again that cars engine is music to me to i dont mind it blocking out everything else.

My TL was like that until last Friday when I finally had the stupid noisy BFGoodrich G-Force Comp-2 A/S tires (which still had plenty of tread on them) yanked off in favor of a set of Pirelli Cinturato P7 All-Season Plus tires; the difference inside and outside my car is astounding.

Fortunately my wife and I rent a small apartment on a 70-acre horse farm where our closest neighbors are nearly a half mile away.

Is it really that noisy?
yes, however there are upgrades that you can do like better tires or suspension.
Is 150hp under powered for this car?
yes, very underpowered and will feel sluggish. To get around this stay in lower gear using Manual mode.
How is the overall ride quality?
Build quality is great, ive had both the 2.0 and the 2.4dct and both have held up well.
Is it reliable?
Not a single problem. 2 ilxs since 2013, have not had to take it in for a unexpected service.
A bonus, you can take it to any honda dealer as opposed to Acura for regular servicing to save $$$

I think that was the last year of the TSX. I would go with a manual '14 TSX over a '14 ILX. 200 hp/174 lb-ft of torque.
