Cargo net

Hello everyone, I am finally not only a member of the acurazine community, but an official member of the Acura TL family. I picked up my '08 TL 5AT w\ Nav in polished metal metallic last night. took advantage of the 2.9% financing. I think the final selling price, w\o tax and DMV fees was 32,780. Try as I might, I just couldn't get it any lower. Anyways, to my question...

I've searched high and low on the boards here but I can't seem to find anything that could help me figure out just how in the world to put the cargo nets in correctly. more specifically, the corner net, which I would really like to utilize. Anyone who can help with some photos or anything, it would be greatly appreciated!!

I'm sure I will have many more questions and become well aquainted with that search button!

It's not you- the "search" function is apparently still messed up since AZ's movement to new servers a couple of weeks ago.

However, I found this thread (with photos) in the 3G Garage re: the nets: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/does-cargo-net-come-tl-540301/

A number of topics, and links to all Honda & Acura owners' manuals, can be found at the 3G Garage at: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/3g-tl-service-department-aka-garage-questions-answers-check-here-first-553557/

Welcome to AZ!

Congrats on the car!! I'd be interested in this too. The manual only shows how to install the large cargo net...

I don't have anything to do this Saturday, so I figured I will give this small cargo net installation one more try...but I then failed again...

the pictures are clear, but when I went to the car...somehow it just doesnt work....the pocket on top doesnt look right....or whatever...could be my net too..

anyways, just wanted to ask what you guys put in this small thing?

I put a few Microfiber towels in mine, and hang my instant detailer on the top of the net.

I only use the little net pocket occasionally for small light items that shouldn't fly around the trunk- DVD cases, empty commuter coffee mug, small items from the hardware store, etc. I also use the little net to keep library books in place on one side of the trunk while ferrying kids to and fro.
My little net is usually just partially set up, hooked into two or three of the hooks/posts so the elastic is not overstretched, until needed.

Try to orient the small net using the nylon webbing wrap at the bottom of the net; the longest cord is on top connected at the furthest hooks/posts. The rest of the net install, including the pocket, should fall into place once you get the vertical part of the netting installed.

IDK; the TL comes with one large cargo net and one small one in the trunk (or in the spare tire tool compartment under the trunk floor, depending how the dealer delivers the car).

I tried it this morning....the small pocket does not form correctly after I clipped all the hooks...I am guessing that the longest cord on my net somehow does not go through the nets how it's supposed to..sorta messed up...damn it, it's killing me how something so simple, but I can't do it..and even more, I don't think I am going to use it anyways....

I was gonna ask the dealer to do it...but then from the above post, they don't even seem to know either...probably

that long cord looks messed up but it isnt. the side with the small loop goes on the button right at the back of the trunk, and the longer loop side goes on the button that's upside down on the top of the trunk. The piece with the thick cover should face the right side of your trunk, with the loop on the end of that on the right side middle button. Study the picture above carefully. Took me a few tries, but I eventually got it. I'll never take it off though, because I'm afraid I won't be able to do it again!
