Footwell Lighting

does anyone know how to wire footwell lighting to come on when you open the door and to turn off when you close? the item that i have only requires a 12v source and a ground. i just need to find a 12v source when the door opens.

Do you want them to come on individually or all at once? The easiest way for all at once is to go to the main harness which is underneath the carpet and door sill on the driver side and tap it there. My puddle lights are tapped to the door light harness in each door, so only that side comes on when that side is opened.

well, i tried doing it kamlungs way and for some odd reason, they come on when the door is closed and go off when its open. wtf. hahaa... i dont mind having them come on all at once or individually. what wire did you tap into for yours, go90go? on the wire harness under the sill on the driver side, i tapped into the green wire with a blue stripe with silver dots.

That is exactly what I was going to do if I ended up doing the puddle light mod.

Looking good! Want to help me do my sideskirt puddle lights, too? Haha, I've had them for so long but I haven't had the time to put them in. Here's a shot of my door ones:

They're much brighter at night, .

~Cheers~
