Front&Rear Brake disc (rotor), knuckle, hub, and front wheel brg repl 3G Garage#D-085

I just got some spacers (H&R) for the front of my 06 TL 6 mt and I need to install the Longer Studs. Does anyone know how to remove the hub, or have a diagram? I have changed rotors before but never been beyond that. I'm not sure how hard it would be to take off the hub to "pound" out the current studs. The sales man said not to take it anywhere, he said it is easy and to just do it in my garage if I had a few tools.

Any info would be great.........Diagram

you will have to press the hub out of the bearing (sometimes ruining the bearing) and press out the stems, press in new stems, and press in a new bearing.....wiser to have a pro do it

I talked to a buddy at firestone and they are gonna do it for $200.00, Thats alot of money just to get my wheels to fit this dang car, but I guess the job was rated at 3.5 hours so I can't complain. Thanks for the info guys!!! I'm glad I didn't start tearing everthing apart cause I don't have a press!!

They are Konig prophets, 20 x 7.5. They are going to go on the new TL and thats why I need a spacer, they wouldn't clear the BREMBO brakes

Just removing the disc for re-surfacing

I have an 04 AT and I need to have the rotors turned. Do I have to remove the spindle nut or do I just need to unscrew the flat screws? Of course, after swinging out the caliper.

TIA

All you have to do is unscrew the 2 little flat screws on the rotors and they will come right off. They might be rusted in, so you might need an impact driver to remove it and after you remove the screws, you do not need to replace them.

I did this on a 00 accord v6 to fit 07 civic SI rims. And yes it was a PITA. Wheel bearings are around 50.00 each and go ahead and plan on having them replaced because the inner race will press out of the outer race almost every time. Pays to have a friend that works at the dealership shop though. Free tools and an extra hand.

There may be a shortcut on the fronts but at risk of bending some threads possible. If you remove wheel, caliper, rotor and don't mind messing up the dust shield you WILL be able to get them out pretty easy, and you MIGHT be able to get the new ones in.

The rears are easy. Just remove caliper and spin hub to knock studs out where the caliper was. That is a 5 minute job once the wheel, caliper is off.

And I know I bumped an old thread just to be clear to all. But needed info and will update in a week that you can replace studs without having to go ^ that route.

I had the same question and I searched and found this thread with the same question. I then googled and still didn't find the answer either for some odd reason.

I just replaced my rotors yesterday and the Service Manual indicates that you need to remove the spindle nut, BUT YOU DON'T.

After you take out the rotor retaining screws, you might get lucky and have the rotor come off with a bang of a rubber mallet. In my case, I wasn't lucky. You need two #8 bolts to thread into the other (larger) holes on the rotor. Just alternate turns on each of the bolts and the rotor break away from the hub and come off.
