Hello All,

Does anybody know if a stock A-Spec rim will clear Type-S front caliper ?

Thanks.

Nothing to add but wish there was an easy way to tell.

I'm waiting for a 2023 Type-S with the perf package and also looking for winter tires + wheels to switch back and forth.

Hard to tell what the wheels look like online and whether they will fit. Discount Tire and Tire Rack show some but they just have graphics of the wheels and not any real pics. Tire Rack is actually terrible because they won't show any wheels for the Type S. I called them and they said they haven't tested it.

I called Acura to check cost of wheels and by the time they added on the core charge, etc, they were close to $1k USD a piece without even the tires. Even the more expensive wheels I see online are around $500-700 USD.

Basically been trolling forums for what people have used successfully in the past.

I know that the OEM TLX 19" rims will bolt up and clear the caliper but have a low clearance on top of the caliper...just dont know what that clearance is...

The info comes from a facebook group. Someone reported that a local dealership had sold at least couple sets of aspec rims for typeS owners. No details on clearance, but seems like enough. Many folks here are fine with 5mm clearance of 18 inch Fast wheels.

BTW, looking at the price, why even bother? why not going with FastWheels?

Because Fast Wheels is taking shortcuts, and it sells faulty wheels to 6G TLX owners.

6G TLX requires wheels with a 5x120 bolt pattern. But rather than manufacturing proper 5x120 wheels to sell to 6G TLX owners, Fast Wheels uses 5x114.3 bolt-pattern design wheels and starts drilling a 5x120 bolt pattern instead. As a result, the lug nut holes on the faulty wheels are skewed, and the lug nuts won't seat properly and stay securely on the faulty wheels on a 6G TLX.

I would purchase not the nicest OEM but quality rims for winter tires rather then aftermarket nicer but of questionable quality rims...it is just me...and I am not purchasing from a dealer...There are few sets circulating on local "for sale" platforms...
