Looks great! Do they come on automatically with the puddle lights?

Thanks. They do, they turn on when I approach the vehicle when I have the key on my person. They also turn on when you unlock the car with the remote and when you open any one door manually.

Just had mine installed and they look pretty slick. They come on with the puddle lights but turn off about 15 seconds before the puddle lights when I walk away.

post some photos if you can, I’d like to see how yours looks. Hope you didn’t have to pay the dealer for the install. They wanted an arm and a leg for the install. It was a difficult job but I did it myself.

Any excuse to break out the DSLR so I will get you some pics in a few days. Unfortunately, I had to pay the dealer for the install but since it came at the same time as my issue with the puddle lights, I was able to haggle a bit on the final cost. But yes, you are right - the price it ridiculous to have the dealer do it.

I can’t wait to see your pictures. Sorry to hear that you had to pay the dealer. I’m in New York and the dealer wanted over a grand. I bought the lights from a dealer online in Indiana for $155 . That’s my total out of pocket cost(taxes and shipping included). But there is a lot of labor involved. 10 hours in my case. I now understand why the install charge is so much.

installation process

Install involves removal of both side skirts, cutting 2 openings per side to flush mount the lights, zip tying the lights wiring inside the skirts, drilling or piercing 2 holes into plastic under the floor per side to run harness thru. Interior plastic trim that covers front seat belts (both sides). Weather strip for all four doors have to be removed about halfway. Front carpet has to be partially raised and rubber plug on the floor has to be removed so that wire harness can be fed thru it (very difficult procedure) with the seats still on. Plastic trim by the foot on each side have to be removed, Side panels for the dashboard have to be removed. You must search under the steering column for taped up(hidden connectors) to plug and connect welcome light harness, same thing has to be done under the glove box. It is a lot of work. I tackled it in three stages.
1. driver underside
2. passenger underside
3. interior to ultimately connect harness
the light set comes with all hardware for installation and easy connect wiring.

I also brought the Welcome Light Kit and install it myself. The large majority of time is removing the side skirt and drilling the hole. Running the wiring wasn't bad. Just locating the connector on the side of the fender on both side were tricky.
Now I know why the dealer wants at least $800 for labor.

Thanks for the picture! This is apparently an option on a 2023 TLX Type S. The labor is nearly 3x the cost of the part. Did yours come standard?

Welcome lights are not standard, only puddle lights. The installation while not rocket science is a bit labor intensive. I had mine installed at the dealer. I installed my lighted door sills on my own. The wiring is run the same for both but isn't anywhere near difficult.

The lights are really cool, but I'm in love with the rest of the car as well. The color of seats in contrast with the car's general color is just amazing. And I love the wheels. So cool. I'm drooling over here, man.
