Back to Burger...eventually!

I sent my JB4 in to have a look at and they said "something was loose inside..." LOL...anyway, they sent it back and it was missing the OBD cable...and the original box. So now I wait for THAT to come in to give this another go...Hey #ktuner, hurry up on the 23's!!

And funny story? I want to submit not one, but 2 reviews on the Burger site....neither of them showed up. They ONLY post 5 star reviews it seems, and there are only 2 of them.

You said you haven't had "many" issues. Anything significant that's the reason you're switching? Or are you modifying the engine past what the JB4 can tune? I guess I'm kind of shocked that so many people seem to be willing and able to dump so much money into these cars when they're really not a high performance platform. Potentially voiding a lengthy warranty. I get modding a Corvette or a Supra or even Miata, but a TLX? I'm still waiting to finish breaking in my engine before I install the JB4. I'm really only hoping it's going to add a little grunt and smooth out the torque curve. I don't expect it to turn into an NSX.

So I got the Burger JB4 back and it seems 'fine'. I'ts just...quirky. In comparison to my KTuner setup, which is seamless! You don't know it's there aside from the gobs of power you gain....this is, well, there. It'sa bit...itchy. LOL...it's not a smooth power delivery. It hesitates...then goes!...just not seamless like my Ktuned RDX. I most likely will pull the unit. Just not worth it for the power gain, but less 'factory' driveability.

Hurry up KTUNER! Help on the 23 Type S!!

So the Burger JB4 is back on....and, well...It's just odd. you read they website and it's the "cats meow" as far as tuning. Which is BS. A piggyback unit can NEVER do what a complete reflash does. PERIOD! Sorry Terry. I have had 2 K Tuner, one still on my 21 RDX and it's SHOCKINGLY better, seamless and just 'factory' feeling power! The Burger stuff is fast, don't get me wrong, but if you "jump on it" vs just gradual throttle, the car is all over the place, very herky jerky. Not smooth. Nothing like the factory feel.

So I limit my FULL THROTTLE fun and just slowly squeeze it from time to time. Ktuner might be closer on the 23's? WE'll see....keeping finger crossed for a PROPER tuning option.

I'd just like to post that at 540 miles I couldn't wait any longer and installed the JB4. I notice no oddities or quirkiness. Maybe Fiat or death projects can chime in with more specifics about the issues they had. I'm only using map 1. I can't get 93 here right now to use map 2/3. Maybe at lower boost I'm not getting the same problems. I'll have to drive the car a lot more back to back in map 0/1 to really gauge performance. First impression is that the car has gotten more lively through the whole rev range but there's a touch more turbo lag. Exactly what I'd have expected knowing how it works.
