Rearview camera guidelines - fixed / dynamic / both setting

The rear backup camera has three options if you want to use the guidelines: Fixed, Dynamic, and Both. Fixed and Dynamic guidelines work for me, but Both doesn't appear to work as all I see are the Dynamic guidelines with that setting. Does anyone else have this problem?

Also, is it just me or does the distortion of the image with the backup camera make it tough to back this car into parking spots? Maybe I'm just too used to the cameras I had in my previous cars, but man this one seems tougher to me. I haven't even had the car for a week though and I'm not doing a ton of driving so I'm sure I'll get used to it.

I haven't tried the other view options - the one it defaults to has a really nice resolution and is super clear - much better than the one on my 2015. May be something amiss with yours???

There's definitely a learning curve with reverse parking this car, I was constantly screwing up my parking job for the first couple months. Never had this problem with any other car. I think the fisheye effect of the camera is distorted in a weird way, plus the guidelines seem a bit off, I can't put my finger on it. I think the wheelbase being so long is another factor, the "pivot" point of the car when turning in reverse feels odd it doesn't feel like I as the driver am the pivot point

The fisheye is definitely having an impact. I have been averaging about 5 minutes to park a car when I arrive to work. Previous cars took less than a minute or two.

The resolution isn't the problem - I agree it's really nice. I think the fisheye distortion is what's throwing me off. I have it set to the more moderate wide angle view and that seems to help.

Yeah, you make a good point. The longer wheelbase and overall length of the car likely has something to do with it. I came from a VW GTI, a MUCH smaller vehicle (almost a full 30 inches shorter!) so I'll need to take more time to get used to this!

I think I'm getting the hang of it, but I think you're right, the fisheye throws me off a bit. The widest view setting really pushes it to an extreme. I've tried the more moderate wide angle view and it seems to be easier for me. It's a good thing that you can switch so easily while the car's in reverse!

Now if only I could figure out the guidelines. I like the idea of having both the fixed and dynamic, but if I have to choose, I think I'd stick with the dynamic. It's just odd that the "both" setting is only giving me the dynamic lines. It's not like this is urgent though.
