Rear Dash Cam Install - '23 TLX Type S

Notice we have a fuse box in the trunk? Can that be used to wire the rear dashcam? Reason I ask is because I have a solution for the front (Escort Maxcam wired to rearview mirror). I'm looking to install a rear and haven't seen any videos hardwiring these to the back. So instead of running a wire to the front box. Am I crazy?

My rear camera got power from a cable between the front and rear camera. I believe there are some wired /unused fuse blocks back there. Do it!
How did you wire the front from the mirror? I am going to install my radar detector and have always run power across and down the A-pillar.

I haven't done it yet but I bought a kit from BlendMount.com. I just put in what detector I have - MaxCam 360 and the car. Here is a link for a thread on reddit that lays out the wiring to the rearview. It has always on and ignition power. Blendmount also sent the tap wires. These are much shorter than the radar wiring kit. The MaxCam is the reason why my rear cam, when I buy it, is a separate system/install.

Let me know if that bracket holds it firmly. I had a mirror mount bracket and the radar detector was constantly shaky and rattling.

I will but it's going to take me a number of days to get it installed. I don't see why it would vibrate any more than it would because the connection to the detector/cam is the same (magnet).

I believe the mounting something on the end of a stick tends to vibrate more than a solid mount. Unlike the 3m tape to a fixed/rigid small bracket.
Idk. The ones I tried bounced around. Maybe they have made them better now. I haven't installed a radar detector in the TLX yet. Heck, the prices of them have more than doubled since I bought my last radar detector.

Was able to get it installed. No vibration but I'm not that happy with the Blendmount. It is very hard to install and adjust. On this car it wants to point the detector to the right, which it seems, it is designed to allow via an adjustment bolt. However, what it needs, is the ability to adjust to the left. I might go back to the suction cup.

Which version Blendmount did you order/install?

This one. It's hard to work with. Wish I could get the detector closer up towards the glass.
