Angry New Type S Audio Cannot Be Played Right Now

Weird pop up today, and I think it is the second time it happened. 2022 TLX Type S, if it matters, but it's just the infotainment system.
I'm hearing the interface audio (the chimes and such), but when I clicked SiriusXM or other audio sources, it said "cannot be played right now", as if I was put in a penalty box.
Anyone have any insights or fixes? I tried a fast shut down of the car and restart at a light, but it didn't work.

When you shut down the car, did you open and close the driver-side door to reset the system?

At the light? no. Audio is working now, but I don't even know why it did it to begin with.

I do it at the light all the time. As long as your car is parked, you shut off ignition, it is safe to quickly open and close the door (assuming nobody on the other side, of course!).

This is the only way to reset the car properly. You know you've done it when your seat starts moving back to the pre-entry position.

The fact that I have to reset the car like a misbehaving phone or PC is quite sad actually.

Crap. Well thanks for the tip. Hopefully an OTA deals with it, or I figure out why it happened in the first place.

I've had my non-Type S TLX for nearly 16 months now and it has been an issue this whole time.

The fact that your newer Type S is still doing it is not surprising. I'm with you in hoping an OTA comes through but this issue may not be fixed until at least the mid-cycle refresh.

I had this same problem about 6 months after I my Type S. It did it twice. When I took in for routine service, I mentioned the problem and they replaced the amplifier. Late '22 a TSB was published that the problem is in the amplifier. If you are still having problems, they should be able to fix it now.

Is the amplifier to blame for CarPlay being unresponsive unless you wait a bit to plug it in? The whole thing freezes

The Acura infotainment system has a hard time multitasking at ignition startup. I wait a solid 20 - 30 seconds before plugging my phone in; I wait until the onboard nav is fully loaded by watching for the compass indicator to appear in the instrument display near the ODO readout. When that is up (assuming you don't have it up on the helper screen of the center display already) it means the car is done booting everything that's built into its own technology up. I then plug in the phone, wait for carplay to fully load, then start the music and everything usually works fine from there. Following this routine, along with using a high quality Anker USB cable, has pretty much eliminated any instances of loss of infotainment functionality - at this point I can't even remember the last time I had to shut off the car at a light, and open and close the door to do a hard reset of the system to restore apple car play.

Thanks for the tip on the amp. Next time I take my car in, I will mention it. Last time it happened, I recorded it on my phone so I would have proof could accurately describe the issue since the last few times, the tech couldn't get it to misbehave in the shop. Mine is random in that I will go days without an issue and then almost every other startup would require me rebooting the car for it to work.
