Spare Tire options

Just wondering what spare tire solutions some of you might have used? I understand Acura has had a official spare tire accessory that fits in the trunk over the battery. I asked a salesman during a test-drive who said that wasn't the case but I was planning to call the parts department to check on that.

Also saw this option 2021-'25 Acura TLX Spare Tire Kit. Light Alloy, Compact | Modern Spare. Looks like it also would fit over the battery within the trunk. Anyone here order this?

Gio with the OE option. It comes with all you need to fit the spare over the battery (couple of other parts are needed, not jus the spare).

The OE option is also cheap. Look at online OE parts seller, should be easy to find.

Sorry I can't make the Tire Rack link work properly, but the jist is on TireRack.com if you pick you specific Make, year, and model, search for tires. When it asks what tire size is on your car, pick OPTIONAL TIRE SIZE. Pick SPR for the temporary spare tire. There is only one option.

All the tools are in the Modern Spare bag. Because the bag is flat, it does not take up a lot of space in the trunk. When I bought my car in 21, there was a shortage of spare tires. Even if you could find a spare tire kit from Acura, they were all cost prohibitive. This was a very economical solution.

With the modern spare tire installation above, I would add insulation between the wheel and battery terminals. You truly don't want risking making a short right at the battery terminals!

The Acura spare tire kit is $127.00. A tire is $250.00. That equals $377.00. Plus, a way nicer installation.

Get the spare tire kit and tire through Acura. It’s factory and fits over battery, and under trunk floor. Was one of 2 accessory options I got for my 2025 Type S. No regrets !

Thanks for the responses. I went ahead and got the oem option installed from Acura today. Fits nicely in the trunk. Acura really should have included it from the factory.

I got the spare tire from Acura, they will install it for you. I got it after I hit a pot hole and blew my tire. Fix a flat did not work and I had to wait 2 hours for tow truck.
