Has my dealer gone crazy?!!!

So I got an email from the local Acura dealer proclaiming the following:

1) Over 145 Acuras in stock!
2) 3 year prepaid maintenance! (you get a free year on top of the 2 year maintenance all '23 models and up get)
3) '23 Integra $299/month lease with $3389 due.
4) '22 FWD TLX $399/month lease with $3489 due.
5) '22 SHAWD RDX $499/month lease with $3589 due.
6) '23 SHAWD MDX $599/month lease with $3689 due.

*all leases above are 3 years and include $1k loyalty incentive (except for Integra)

Is this what you guys are seeing by your local dealers as well? Desperation or returning to the way things were pre-Pandemic?

They're certainly doing their best! I might have taken the bait if I wasn't so fed up with Acura. LOL!

I know used car prices are starting to come down so are dealerships starting to get a little more nervous now as recession looms?

Let’s be honest here, they’ll just end up changing the definition of recession again. 😆 They probably won’t need to anymore since midterm elections are over.

Those leases are not that bad but I’d rather compare to their financing number counterparts

Probably a bait & switch tactic. When you get there, "oh, those were for the base models and were just sold, but we still have trim X available for just a couple hundred more a month!"

That being said, looking at my local dealers, seems inventory is building back up nicely as well.

Roslyn - 102
Huntington - 64
Island - 116
Smithtown - 63
Valley Stream - 106
Bayshore - 313

That being said, either word got out about the TLX-S price increase or they were on fire sale. There's only 1 in-transit in all of those dealers. If I recall correctly, last time I looked, each dealer had at least two on their lots except for one that only had a single unit.

It was only a matter of time. Production has ramped up while demand has likely fallen with rates going up and everything else becoming more expensive. Tack onto that the fact that dealers are likely giving rock bottom prices now on trade-ins with bad forecasts for used car pricing on the horizon and people likely aren't jumping at the opportunity to buy new cars. Hopefully in a year's time or less you can actually go into a dealer and negotiate a discount without getting strange looks.

My dealer has 2 (yes two) new cars on the lot. Maybe Canada is still behind?

Remember that ADM is illegal in Canada so you haven't had so much of the shenanigans that we've faced here in the States. The US dealers who were banking on ADM lasting through the rest of '22 are starting to see the futility of it all in the face of inflation, job loss, and falling used car prices.
