Extended warranty?

Did anyone purchase the extended warranty for the Acura TLX type S? Have you purchased it with other vehicles and found it valuable?

If it’s brand new then I’d imagine not. If it’s a used Type-S I’d probably purchase it.

I had an extended warranty on my used TLX A-Spec and it was very valuable when the engine rods decided to fail on me in a busy intersection

I did the 8 year/80k mile one on my Type S. I drive my cars for 10 years or so. My last one I could only get up to a 6 year/60k mile warranty so for the last for years, all repairs were on me.

You can buy extensions from any Acura dealer as long as you are currently in warranty. However some durations aren't available except during purchase like the CPO 9yr/150k that both my recent Acuras have.

Acura warranties are priced per model, not trim level, so normally they are a much better deal on the higher trims like Advance. Don't know if Acura considers a TypeS as a trim or a separate model in its pricing.
