Does your TLX type S have bad brake pad & rotor performance?
I've had my car for 1 year and put 12k miles on it, with 70/30 highway/city miles, and 90/10 in normal/aggressive driving.
My rotors already have hot spots and are getting warped.
The pads also have poor performance above 70mph.
Anyone else experience such poor permeance?

I believe they have a TSB out for that. Full brake job on Acura.

Really? Checking now, thanks! I looked under the TSB section for 2021 but did not see it. Maybe I overlooked it. So even if mine are only slightly wobbly I should be eligible irregardless since it's a TSB right?

No, it's not a recall, but a TSB. Your car has to show symptoms of the problem for them to fix it.

There isnt one for the type S only the 2.0t cars. That doesnt mean there isnt brake issues though, mine shreeked until pressed a few times for a lot of last winter and im certain it will come back again this year, but thats just lack of lubrication. Hondamobilemechanic on youtube had his warp and replaced them with light weight after market options

I always thought the brakes on my A-Spec were shady. Good to see a TSB exists for this.

I saw this post on a type S facebook group and was blown away by how wasteful the stock pads are (stolen from a fella named david). Look at all the contact patch they waste. Whats the point in having those big brembo calipers and only using 2/3 of the contact patch? Bottom and right are oem, top and left are racing brake street pads.
I will be going with the racing brake pads and rotors when i get to that point.

I've been thinking of trying the EBC Yellowstuff pads once my stock pads are done. I initially had EBC pads on my previous TLX and was quite impress of the longevity wear.

I understand this is not a reliability issue but how long has this type of "gamesmanship" been employed by Acura? Has it been years or is it a more recent development?

In case anyone is wondering the rear pads have the samething going on (stolen from the same fella)
he used powerstop pads in the rear which also use up the full real estate unlike the stock pads

I'm sure my old A-Spec had similar issues w/surface area. No wonder I always felt like I was going to hit the car in front of me on a hard stop (I don't tailgate)!
