Dealer install deck lid spoiler on advance

I'm getting ready to buy a TLX advance and I was debating on having the dealer install the deck lid spoiler. Has anyone have any positive or negative experiences with dealer installed options? I'm nervous about the Acura techs improperly installing it since it involves drilling holes in the trunk.

They do just fine and the Instructions are basically idiot proof. The only item they typically don’t do that is a must for me is to paint the inside of any metal holes they drill. Keeps future rust away as it coats the steel.

As an example, the S2000 Six Disk CD changer mounts in the trunk and requires some drilling. I’ve seen some Rust Belt driven versions of that car with corrosion. If you plan to keep the car for some time, might be worth the extra paint where they drill into the deck lid. $0.02 from an anal owner that keeps cars in the family for a long time.

Absolutely not. Get a lip spoiler with 3M tape (M3 style). No drilling and looks amazing. Do not let those "techs" drill your hole.

That's why you have the dealer install it. If they screw up they have to make it right. From my experience it is very straight forward. They are provided a stencil and its pretty idiot proof.

You should never underestimate the predicability of stupidity.

You can never overestimate the creativity of an idiot or the stupidity of a consumer.

The dealership can take care of it with no problem....if it IS a problem, it's under warranty.
