I couldn't find any other posts here about installing the OEM cargo net in a 6G, so I figured I'd post here about the process. I originally watched this video on the install, which was helpful:
I was initially put off over the fact that you needed a rivet tool thanks to Acura's decision to not include hooks in the first place, and figured I'd rather just buy another tool instead of rent one from Honda (Bernardi Honda rents the Honda tool, FWIW). I grabbed
rivet nut gun on Amazon, and it worked beautifully for this install. The biggest issue I had was my drill bit not going through cleanly, leaving a few rough edges. I clipped the larger piece with tin snips and all was well. In the end, I'm happy with the result. The net is actually really nice, with a full leather bottom and a leather pull up top. It actually wraps up into the leather that you can zip up for storage, which is neat.
And before anyone mentions it, yes, I did fix the weatherstripping before closing the trunk.
