it’s not touch less.
the brushes bend the mirrors sometimes
A touchless wash is safer, and if you can, avoid the scratch-and-shine (the contact automatic washes with the spinning brushes), especially the ones with the metal rails.

Out in my parts there are virtually no touchless washes beside the self service with the wand which you may as well just get a foam cannon along with a cheap electric power washer. Even that is only good if the car is barely dirty. I resigned to hand washing. My prior blue TLX Aspec I took through the car wash a few times and it ended up will a zillion micro scratches from the roller brush (very visible in certain light). We do take our new SUV through the car wash as it's just too big for me to want to wash/dry by hand.
If you go through an automated, and you have the Aspec side skirts they will get scuffed up beyond repair. You've been informed.
I did a video on my tlx recently and i mentioned the same thing lol...No automated car washes if you have the optional side skirts. You will regret it. Doesnt take long to start seeing the results either
To add my 2 cents to this, I only ever take my Type-S to self-service car wash bay where I can use the spray to wash and rinse my car. Or I go through a touchless carwash but I have NEVER let any brush of sorts at any carwash touch my car lol
I use touchless car washes that look pretty much like the above picture, safe and it is truly touchless without needing to hook up onto some rail to ride down a tunnel.

I would presume the above pictured touchless wash setup would be safe to go through with A-Spec sideskirts?
Keep in mind that touchless car washes use much harsher chemicals to clean the car, which strip out wax and any coatings you might have put on the car. They will also damage clear coat over time if the car is not regularly waxed. "Soft brush" car washes typically use milder detergents. It's a trade-off.

Well that sucks I only use touchless wash twice a month really as I don't drive my TLX much though I am driving more recently before the summer wraps up and it starts getting colder.

I wouldn't say a touchless wash will strip "any" coating. Ceramic coatings withstand pH levels of 2 to 13 and last several years (typically 2 to 10 years depending on the product). Ceramic spray-and-wipe sealants can typically withstand 10 or more strip washes and still remain on the surface at least 3 months (some up to a year). You're right about waxes though.

Correct. I meant any coatings that you would typically put on after wash, such as wax, quick detailer, plastic shine, rainx, etc. I didn't mean semi-permanent coatings like ceramic. Although even ceramic will still get damaged over time if not protected by wax or ceramic sealant, which again get easily stripped and need to be reapplied more frequently when using touchless washes.
