Behind the Scenes at Honda Factory - Acura TLX 2021 Production

Was doing some research on development of 11 speed transmission from Honda and stumbled on two videos that show behind the scenes production throughout the various auto plants that Honda has state side:

First video is specifically of the Acura TLX 2021 production in Marysville, Ohio.

The second video is of the rest of the other centers throughout the country:
Marysville, Ohio - Accord, Accord Hybrid, CR-V, Acura ILX, Acura TLX
Anna, Oho - 4-Cylinder Engines, V-5 Engines, Turbo Engines, CVT Pulleys, and Engine Components
Lincoln, Alabama - Odyssey, Passport, Pilot, Ridgeline, V-6 Engines
Tallapoosa, Georgia - 10 AT Transmissions
Russells Point, Ohio - LLCVT (2WD/4WD) Transmissions, Hybrid Power Systems High Torque 4WD
Greensburg, Indiana - Civic Sedan, CR-V, CR-V Hybrid, Insight
East Liberty, Ohio - CR-V, Acura MDX, Acura RDX
Raymond, Ohio - North American Automotive Development Center

Below some noteworthy screen shots.

I visited the Marysville plant for a tour in 2016 and it was an awesome experience. Hopefully Honda will reinstate them again after Covid is in the rear view camera for awhile. The tour was about an hour and a quarter in the plant and is well worth the trip if they reinstate it.

Thank you for sharing. I was just discussing with my wife my general reservations about buying a car in its first year of production BUT that (to date) my A-Spec is the most solidly built car I've ever had. Caveat: Watching those guys grind over the surface, I will say that they did miss a spot on my TLX. That said, it's been a great car so far.

I agree, my TLX with 14,000 miles has zero problems, rides excellent and couldn't be more happy with it.

Wonder how many seats are damaged on installation. That guy beat the shit out of the seat/car slamming it in there.

Great factory and the East Liberty plant has even more automation. Thanks for sharing.

The 11 Speed Triple Clutch Transmission was patented back in 2016. https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-car...triple-clutch/

Thx for posting, I like these kinds of pics and behind the scenes of assembly. Translating all the design engineering of a car into a efficient SCM and assembly line facility with work instructions, tooling, jigging, stations, workers, and ALOT of S/W to manage it all is no easy task.

Yeah, I though 10 were enough.

If I ever get out that way, I'll also try to get a tour. A friend toured the GM Corvette Bowling Green facility and said it was amazing. Probably the best was another friend did the Ferrari factory, and that was amazing as well.

Enjoyable viewing. Thanks for posting!! Like others here, my car has been a joy to drive for the 10 months plus that I've had it.
