Awd power distribution
Awd power distribution
Hi all,
I just noticed this last night where I'm on highway speed, around 60mph, and when I press on the gas, i noticed the awd gauge sent almost all power to the front. Is this normal? I see the gauge showed almost even power distribution when accelerating from a dead stop.
This is from a 23' 2.0.

What IDS mode were you in and how hard did you press the throttle. You should get more tq vectoring and rwd power in sport IDS mode. I’ve noticed the MDX and RLX seems to use more rear sh-awd compared to the smaller fwd bias sh-awd Acura vehicles. My 08 RDX was usually 80/20 to 70/30 normally and never above 50% rear in max sh-awd or tq vectoring. My 11 MDX could switch to 30/70 sh-awd depending on condition.
Mrgold35, mainly drive in normal auto mode, with every now and then switch to sport auto. I thought I saw my car power distribution is almost even out when flooring at high speed.
BUT like other mentioned, seem to be normal. I guess it just me remembering something else lol. I tried again tonight with both sport n normal mode, at launch, power is almost even out. But when I'm already at certain speed and floored it, the graph showed 2 front wheels with full bars and the 2 rear has 1 bar.

its normal when ur driving straight at like 60mph+, it sends more to rear at low speeds and to rear/sides in turns, its still fwd-biased platform with some tweaks to make it somewhat feel rwd-y at take offs/flooring in corners/turns
Thanks Baksju. I don't know why I remembered even on freeway speed, the power to the rear wasn't just at 1 bar when accelerating. All I remembered was hearing a small bang when cornering into the freeway ramp, and then noticed the power distribution was weird lol.
Thanks all for the replies. Now i have 1 less issue to worry 😄
