Acura TLX 2021 - Ref. Structural Design Summary, CAD, and Assembly Isometric View
During holiday season, stumbled on this report from GDIS 2021 on the 2021 TLX, and posted some material on another thread concerning head height from legacy gen, but didn't want to de-rail the original thread. Good reference material for techs when tearing down and reassembling, otherwise good technical background on the structural design, with respect to rigidity, and safety aspects.

Materials breakdown comparison:
Interesting the differences structurally from Type S with respect to stiffness.
Good to see some FEA (finite-element analysis), wonder what Acura uses for the pre and post processor.
Other items that stood out from a design perspective, was the front strut reaction housing casting and assembly design, one piece construction for door ring, the laser brazing roof construction, and material selection with respect to failure modes during crash.
And for OML, how much it's evolved, from conceptual design, prototype to what on the streets today. Hadn't seen the concept prior.
And other reference CAD views that I stumbled on while going down the rabbit hole after stumbling on the structural report.

Thanks for posting, more of these engineering drawings and diagrams are what's needed in the 2G forum
