dealer mechanic said it is inspection oil. They clean it up and we wait for next oil change to see if there is oil there. monitoring it now.

When I worked for Honda, we had a lot of this on new cars. They put a coating on the engine for storage purposes and once it’s in the car it “melts” off when the engine is hot. This looks like an oil leak. By the next service it’s no longer there. Most of the time it looks like a rear main leak bc all of that coating is trapped in between the engine/trans

Agreed. I think common in Honda's since it happened to both my Accords . A lot of work and very expensive to fix.
However, they were over 10 years old before they leaked a drop ... not at year-1 and first oil-change.
But OP ... be sure that is what it is. The Acura plant builders can be messy with the first fill of various fluids (like they don't like using funnels or rags or something). But even then, doesn't seem right for it to end up here if not near a fill-hole.

Yes. It's been well documented from just about every manufacturer that getting warranty work can be quite cumbersome unless it's a glaring or known issue (and even then it can be a PITA). Manufacturers pay minimally, especially on the labor side. Dealers and techs alike hate warranty work because, unless the shop is dead, they're usually losing money when compared to actual paying customers.

a. Issues reported (and they take me seriously)
b. Report an obviously warranty-covered item
... if I printed the related TSB. Like, once they knew it was a "real problem" they performed to TSB. Otherwise, they weren't always so sure where to start. It was harder at first when this "all new model" was new and not many MDX sold or related TSB yet.
And it really depends on the Service Advisor.
