If I want to get some wheels that look like those on the Prototype, where should I go please? Any suggestion? I don't want to break my bank though... :-)

Actually, do you think that the TLX would look good with those 19" wheels found on the 2012-14 4G TL Elite model at all? They are my favourite wheels... Or do those wheels look too angular for the curvy body of the TLX???

Can't answer the question about the prototype wheels, but the 2012-2014 TL has a different bolt pattern than what is used on the TLX, so their wheels can't be swapped.

Thanks, Mr. Hyde! I guess I will forget about the 2012-14 wheels then! Sigh...

I wanted the 19" Diamond Cut wheels as my summer wheels while I will use the 18" original wheels as the winter wheels. However, the 19" Diamond Cut wheels are just way too expensive.

Perhaps I will just get another set of 18" original wheels for the summer tires then!

Thanks again.

I am researching winter wheels as well. I had steel rims on my last Acura but going with alloys this time. The industry recommendations are for smaller diameter wheels (damage resistance, lower cost, more comfortable ride), and narrower tires with higher profile (better deep snow traction).

If this logic was applied to the I4 then the target would be 16X7 wheels with 215/60 R16 tires. Not sure that I could live with that so am considering a compromise with 17X7.5 after market wheels with 225/55 R17 tires (same size as I4). I would be interested in hearing your plans.

17" is the smallest rim you can use for TLX because the front brake rotors are to big. Just use the stock I4 size 225/55R17. If you want a steel rim you can use 17" steel from 2007-2011 CRV. That's what we put on 2013 & up Accord's. It's the same bolt pattern as TLX.

This is the rim I used on my TLX, its the closest I could find to look like the prototype. From Tire Rack in 17, 18 and 19"
I bought 18" with Michelin Pilot Sport AS/3 245/45R18

Quandry, how much would your dealer charge for another set of the original wheels, I wonder?

BTW, Dutchy, I just went to Tirerack and tried to search by 2015 TLX - it did not come back with anything. How did you search there please? Or can you send me the link for it please? Thanks!

I have not asked but I expect ~C$500 while after market can range from C$120-350. But I have not seen anything from the dealer that I would want and am not getting an identical set of 18" which I like. TireRack is currently the leading contender for a set of 17", but I need to call them to confirm that my selection will fit as their wheel selector does not yet have the TLX configured.

I searched wheels and tires for 2014 Accord Sedan Sport. It's the same bolt pattern and hub size as TLX.

Service rep estimates C$100 per steel wheel and $800 per for Acura alloy wheel. Thinks he can get after market for me for $300-400 per wheel. Is there any reason not to go with a U$110 (plus shipping and taxes) alloy from TireRack or a local supplier?

No way! You can get the 19" Diamond Cut wheels from Acura for about $600 - $700 each, so there's no way that each of the 18" alloy wheels would be $800 each! That does not sound right.....

Are those prices with tires?

I've seen sets of the diamond cuts on sale online for $1600 plus shipping without tires.

My local dealer wants too much as well for them, so I won't be going that route through them. If I do, I'll be buying them online myself.

I didn't corner him for details (numbers) but the parts manager at my local dealer assured me he could get me a great deal on the diamond cuts... we'll see when the time comes.

No, Mr. Hyde, that was WITHOUT tires!!! That's why I thought they were too pricey!

WOW! If I could get a set online for $1600 I would go for them right away... :-)

RS7 Wheels look very similar to the prototype but will require an adapter to change the bolt pattern or find a replica RS7 wheel that is 5x114.3.

I do not recall what the prototype looked like, but there is this Bremmer BR11 19x8.5 with the correct bolt pattern from TireReack which is similar to the previous post.

Love those Audi wheels - THANKS!

Actually, Volvo has some similar wheels for the XC60 T6 AWD R-Design Platinum trim, too. They look really, really good!

I wished that Acura would offer something similar too....

BTW, Quandry, I think that these Bremmers are what Dutchy has on his TLX.... thanks!

You can buy adapters to run the 4g bolt pattern wheels on a tlx.

TLX is what? 5x114?
4g is? 5x120?

Just buy some 5x114 to 5x120 spacer adapters.
If the Elite wheels you want have space in the back of the wheel between the lug holes (which my ILX OEM wheels do have) then you can just get some 10mm adapters and theyll fit great. If there is no space youll probably need 25mm spacers which may poke a bit.

There are options to making those wheels fit though.

Bolt pattern is the same, offset looks to be the same so they should fit. Maybe the Acura caps with fit as well. Somebody will do it.
