Question Best High Performance All Season Tires ?

Hi guys.

Looking for everyone's personal experience for the best High Performance All-Season tires used on their TLX's. I got a 2018 Aspec AWD with 37k miles and now my tires are down to 4/32nds so its about that time i need to go tire shopping.

Living in the midwest we get a lot of snow/ice, so id like to avoid having a 2nd set of wheels/blizzaks.

My previous car (2009 Lincoln MKZ FWD) i had Conti DWS06's and they were absolutely amazing in that car, but the tires weren't as wide as the 19's we get on the Aspec. Im leaning towards those tires, but I want to hear from you on your experiences in the snow!

Thanks.

tires are subjective.
if you loved a tire, keep buying that tire.

the tire compound does not change because it's wider.
if your MKZ did well in snow, the TLX will do well in snow.

(yes, i understand a narrower tire will be better for snow.)
but if you're not gonna go to a dedicated winter, then it doesnt really matter

I'm on my second set of Michelin Pilot A/S 3+, (A/S 4 is out now). I've heard great things about the Continental DWS06 tires and I also have a pair of Yokohama Advan A/S on another car which I really like too.

I believe the DWS06 got the best reviews as the top all season tires to have during the snow, but anything more than light snow, I would personally get a dedicated snow tire. You do have AWD so you might be ok with getting away with an A/S tire year round.

I had DWS06 on for 40k miles (could stretch to 45k but I had an unrepairable tire). Extremely superb tire. I am getting the yokohama advan a/s+ installed today (the only tire I could get at a decent price with rebate). Will report back on initial feelings.

Go https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-tlx-...1g-tlx-990433/ to see some impressions on other tires that other members have used. @dezymond I used your review of the yokos and got em lol. Initially wanted the general as-05

Nice. I think you'll be happy with them, I know I still am. My dad even got a set of the Yokos for his E350 and he seems happy with them.

Guys,

keep in mind this tire thread is based on experience with SNOW.... not sunny Cali weather.... Midwest people aren't lucky enough for that!

I got Michelin CrossClimate2 tires for my 2018 TLX 2.4 Tech. Love these tires.

Top rated tire according to Consumer Reports.

The Tire Rack has its own testing ground where it tests all tires, you just need to go to the website and compare the test results with prices. I use Sumitomo HTR A/S P03 all-season tires, it surpasses all in terms of quality price

Both the Pilot AS3/4 and DWS06 aren't particularly good in snow. IMO they're all-season in name only, and are really only suited for 3-season driving. I've had the misfortune of driving with them in light snow and the AS3 was hardly better than summers, and the DWS06 was well behind more balanced all-season/all-weather tires. I think you're going to be hardpressed to find a UHP AS tire that can handle snow reasonably well.
