TLX Chip/crack on windshield

Not even a month I have the car and it’s got this crack. I gotta pay at least $1000 to replace the windshield now FML. Dealer said it can’t be filled. What do you think?

yes, once it starts to spider web, it's too far gone to fill.

the easiest way to avoid rocks hitting the windshield is to leave space between cars when travelling. tail gaiting is the number one cause for rock chips...Not saying that's what you did, as there could have been a semi that kicked up a rock...but i've learned my lesson to never get too close to semi's or tail gate.

I don't think this can be filled, as it "grew".
I try to identify rock chips early and have them repaired (filled). It's a structural repair, not cosmetic so your chip may still appear but won't grow with the flexing of the windshield during normal car movements.
Depending on where you are, your insurance may pay for the repair.

Spiderweb, it's beyond OTC repair.

Your cameras/sensors will also need to be recalibrated at the dealership. Also I've heard you want to make sure OEM glass is provided. I recall a few members replacing their windshield with glass that wasn't OEM and it supposedly couldn't be calibrated at the dealership.

Just claimed it on my insurance, will be going to the dealer to get it done so obviously it will be OEM with the sensors done right.
