Steering Column/Dash Buzz

I knew it would happen eventually...

I have this "buzz/faint ticking rattle" that's coming from the steering column or driver's side dash that is driving me up the freaking wall. I haven't taken it in for service yet because I hate being that guy driving service techs around town trying to recreate the sound. The rattle is even more annoying when the VCN kicks in and vibrates through the dash and steering wheel. Has anyone else experienced this? I haven't found any TSBs on the 18s that pertain to rattles yet. The only relief I get from the rattle is when I disengage the tilt/telescoping lever under the column which is no way to operate the vehicle. Any thoughts?

Ask them to check the airbag cover.

Oh man, I hope that's the issue and not some piece of plastic deep inside the steering column. Is that a known issue? Thank for the tip. I'll be sure to mention that when I take it in.
