I have 2018 tlx a spec 84k miles. My problem is erratic access but no hard failure yet, Dealer can't replicate failure. I think I am covered under warrantee until 100k miles or 7 years from in service date.

 

I have a similar issue but not quite into panic mode regularly. 2019 A-Spec v6 with oem advance remote start module and fobs programmed by Acura. The car will randomly tell me the key is out of range. With the key fob right next to the start button. I replaced the batteries and used the other fobs (it hasn't done it with the original fob but I've only used it a couple times and the problem shows up whenever it wants). New batteries in the remote start fobs and it'll randomly pop up and say key out of range. My wife had the car not turn on and put itself into park and start flashing a couple times.

I took it to Acura just before the warranty ended in hopes of getting some answers. They couldn't replicate the issue but saw my video of the car saying it with my keys right on the start button. Coincidentally, the service advisor I was talking to said his TLX did the exact same thing on the exact same day I went. He believed me but there's no protocol/warranty unless they can replicate the problem. He said he made in a note in my file about it and if it starts happening constantly, to bring it to him and he will see about getting whatever replaced as an out of warranty good-will work invoice.

Did either of you add remote start modules by chance?

I'm at 62k miles now but this started around 25k and persisted on. With their checkup being at 49k

I have noticed some issues too with my 2020 a-spec. SHAWD.

First, when I get out and open the trunk, close the trunk, walk away... the auto lock won't work. Not sure if this is a safety feature, i.e. trunk was opened closed so it figures I better not lock this guy out or something.
Second, when I hold both my iPhone14 and the key in one hand the door won't unlock when I touch the back of the handle. Even when my phone and key are in the same pocket. When I move the iPhone to my other hand and touch the handle again with the remote away from the phone, it unlocks.

I get the feeling by reading all the above issues that perhaps mobile phones somehow interfere causing all these issues. But thats just a guess, no engineering proof, yet!

 

I believe the 7 yr. 100K warranty is for drivetrain only.
