Faint Cabin Noise

Faint Cabin Noise
I have been experiencing a faint noise in the cabin of my brand new TLX SH-AWD Elite. It sounds like a hard drive writing or like a computer, maybe active noise cancelling? It's a hard sound to describe and it changes in characteristic regardless of driving style, speed etc. I just picked the car up yesterday and have heard it every time I have driven. Does not matter what setting the IDS is in. The only time it goes away is when the auto start/stop shuts the engine off. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Could you be hearing the direct injection "ticking" that some of us have experienced? Do you hear the noise outside of the car with the engine running?
Just a thought.....

^^ By the way he describes it, it seems more like a hummm than a ticking noise.
OP...It might be wise to have it checked by the dealership or even test drive another TLX and see if you hear the same thing.

I seem to be hearing the same noise in my 2015 TLX AWD Advance. It is sort of high pitched. Like a cricket chirping almost. I'm thinking it is active noise cancelling. I tried turning off the radio though and it still does it. only when I'm driving, it doesn't do it when stopped, engine on or off at a stop still quiet, but immediately makes the noise again when driving.

Maybe try turning off Active Noise Control? ![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I thought I heard in a video that a hum is possible with the VCM.

Oh goodie, I'm not the only one - I have this faint 'crickets chirping' noise also...almost sounds like interference buzz, and I hear it at lower speeds. It seems to change pitch or tempo with engine revs. I'm trying to learn to ignore it, but the first day, it was driving me crazy!
Will try to turn off active noise cancellation.

Did you guys check your muffler bearings or possibly the flux capacitor?
Seriously, I haven't heard anything like that, but I used to have a car that the passenger seat belt buckle would bump against the trim and cause a noise that was hard to pinpoint. I just went ahead and buckled it and unless someone got in, the noise was gone.
It really does suck to have a brand new car and almost go insane trying to determine where some crazy noise is coming from.
I hope you guys get this problem remedied.

You say it sounds like crickets chirping. If that occurs while going over bumpy pavement, try holding the seatback on the passenger seat still when it's doing it. If that stops the noise, then lube the passenger seat components.

I noticed a sound the second day I had my TLX V6 Tech, and it seemed to be coming from the right hand passenger side, so I suspected the seat belt. I bought the same car I test drove and didn't notice any sounds the first day I had it. It sounded like a seat belt retainer or clip lightly vibrating against something, but I was driving on the freeway and couldn't really play around with it to confirm. It was sporadic but annoying, and turning the sound system on/off made no difference.
I noticed it on the return trip that evening, but since then, it has not come back. I had a similar thing happen with my 2013 Accord EX-L: a sound in the right hand passenger side that went away after a day or two. In the case of the Accord, it disappeared as I was driving the car to the dealership to have them check it, and it never came back.
