So we are driving along, and all of a sudden the Nav, Entertainment, and driver display all reboot. First they go blank and then they start up again.

Meanwhile, I am (fortunately) driving the car, with no problem.

Anybody else ever have this exciting experience? Any ideas as to WTF might be going on?

Car restarted with no problem after being off for like 5 hours.

Ah no. 50º F. I thought maybe I'd been hit with directed EMP, but again, no.

 

My 3g TL did it a few times, haven't experienced it with my TLX...yet...

 

 

Might be time to go to Autozone and get a battery analysis.

in the 2012 kia Sportage; the backup cam came on while driving down the freeway.

all else fails; turn it off and then turn it back on again.

 

Any chance you had a phone plugged into the usb port in the bottom part of the dash?

I noticed my daughters older android phone would cause the system to reboot everyone 2 mins. Thought my car was dying until I removed her phone.

 

 

I had this happen on my 2010 Mazda3 a day after bringing it in for service. Once I hit 40 mph or so, I noticed the dash reset itself and I was greeted with Mazda's "Hello" chime. Also, the doors went through their auto-lock procedure. The car continued to handle perfectly fine. So far, this has only happened that one time.

 

Happened yesterday for first time when my daughter plugged in her new iPhone for the first time. After the quick reboot, no other issues or ensuing reboots.
