Center Screen Issues

Curious if this is happening to anyone else. I have a V6 SH-AWD Tech.

I've had the car for 2 months, and twice now I've started the car in the morning and the center screen comes up in the factory default. The color settings and all my presets are gone, and I can't tune the XM radio (it acts like I don't have a signal). In both cases, I drove the car a bit, turned it off to go do something, and when I started it up again it was fine.

I was beginning to think it was dropping the XM signal, and maybe if the car didn't detect one it defaulted to factory settings. But it's the whole system that resets to factory - all the radios, environmental control settings, everything.

Anyone else see this? I'm going to have them look into it on my first oil change, but that isn't for another few months.

Are both keyfobs in your pocket or somewhere near the car, or it's always just one and the same one?

^ Always the same fob and just the one. I'm the only one who drives it - the other fob is in a drawer.

All the other settings are fine - the seat position, Nav display defaults, phone setup, etc. It's just the features that come through that center display.

Sounds like a software bug. When they released the 9th gen Accords (the first ones with the two screens) we had to take them in after a few months for a TSB to fix some software bugs - it happens.

You may want to capture it on video and send it off to your service department - I'm guessing Acura will want to know if there are some issues there.

+1 on this.

Also the patient will never show symptoms when at the doctor's, so a video very much helps. Make sure to capture the keyfob number as well.

It should happen again before I take it in - seems to be every 30 days so far. I'll get a picture next time.

I agree with the others. If you have your phone handy, take a video of the entire ordeal, that will be 1,000 times better than trying to explain to the dealer what's happening, and in addition, you could always forward it to A.C.R. if necessary.
