Anyone else had peeling paint on bumper?

Ive had my certified pre owned 2015 TLX for 8 months and just noticed bubbling and peeling paint directly behind the rear wheel well on the bumper on both sides. I understand that the tires kick up debris that could contribute but it's pretty bad and consistent on both sides. I called the dealer and they want me to bring it in to take photos and told me it would be up to Acura if they authorized the repair to be covered. I was wondering if this is a common issue? I can definitely see the dealer trying to play it off as wear and tear but in my eyes its a defect as Ive never had the issue on previous vehicles, at least certainly not this bad and this soon. Thanks.

my non-expert opinion, it looks like that bumper cover was replaced due to damage and not prepped and painted well at all. My 15 exhibits no such wear.

There were early reports of thin paint along certain edges of the metalwork back when these came out in 15, but I haven’t seen any recent threads about paint quality.

Hopefully Acura will cover it.

Thanks for the knowledge guys. Ill take it in and see what can be done. Ive had issues with this dealership before turning away a warranty claim for a bad trunk latch after saying it had been tampered with due to my audio system so I'm prepared to get into an argument lol

Maybe take it in to a trusted body shop just to ask their opinion on if it was in an accident

Unfortunately I don't have a go-to body shop as I've never had body work done on a car I've owned. Even if it wasn't an accident and re-paint I'd consider it a defect if the paint peels when the car is 2 years old and less than 10k miles. I have an 05 TL with no such issues so I'd hope quality hasn't slipped that much.

That part with the paint peeling is the add-on splash guards and not the bumper cover itself. My splash guards are peeling as well. My started peeling about a year after I installed them.

If they were installed by the dealer they are included under the cars warranty. If they were not dealer installed they have a 12 month 12000 mile warranty.
