Adaptive Cruise Control Issue
Has anyone noticed in the 2018 Acura TLX a jitteriness in the adaptive cruise control? I find it very annoying that the vehicle seems to be constantly trying to readjust to the vehicle ahead. I find it hard to believe that Acura engineers would not be able to make this work more smoothly. The vehicle also seems to overreact to oncoming traffic on a curve. I have decided to not use the adaptive cruise control as a result. Payed a lot of extra money for technology that is poorly executed.

That's interesting, I find it that it under reacts to traffic conditions. Just this past weekend I could see cars stopping ahead as I was on the highway and the car kept going with no brakes being applied. I decided to take over and bring her to a stop as a precaution, even though I've let the system bring the car to a complete stop in the past. I feel like my MDX's ACC does a better job, too bad it's the old system and doesn't bring the car to a complete stop.

I don't think it's perfect, but good enough in general. There are times that it won't work smoothly, especially in certain types of stop-go traffic where it almost slams the brakes when the car in front slows down.

It's definitely not perfect and not as smooth as I had thought it would be, but it still works really well. I used it alot recently on a 3hr road trip and it worked well and made the drive easier. It doesn't follow too close even on the closest setting which is good and does a good job detecting vehicles far ahead.
Only thing I wish all this technology could predict is driver error, like those jerks who turn into your lane really close and without signaling.
