I have a 2015 TLX SH-AWD Tech Package. Ever since I got it while I drive the AWD shuts off and I get an SH AWD Error on my dash. From that point on it is only FWD until I turn the car off and on again. Error 48 generally shows up on my navigation.

I have taken it to three dealerships and they say that they have had a look and have "fixed it". But it just happens again. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, how did you fix it and is there any technical information that I can give to the techs to guide them.

Love the car but so far such a bad experience.

first time hearing about this issue. i would bring it back and if they don't help. go up the chain and speak with a manager.

 

Keep taking it back and be persistent while being nice. Be assertive. I've never heard of this issue before. You may have a manufacturer's defect in the SH-AWD system, but it could also just be a computer problem too. Don't let the dealerships off easy.

 

If it has been "fixed" for the same issue 3 times already, you might want to look into the lemon law in your state

 

Today the issue came on again and I took it in right away and was persistent that they do not turn the car off. After about 2hrs they told me that my entire rear differential needed to be replaced and that it was dangerous to drive the car (had the car for the past year -_-).

Hopefully this fixes the issue permanently. Goes to show persistent pays off!
